I may have missed something in tyranid lore (I assume that's what you're referring to) but what's a tervigon?

New critter that's coming out in the new book, but with no official model. I'm figuring on making mine out of Carnifexes or Trygons, I haven't decided which. I think I may go with the Trygon because I don't currently plan on fielding any, so using that as the base makes it more distinct from my Tyranofex I'm working on, and Hive Tyrant that's made out of a Carnifex.

Or...we can wait for a real picture from the Codex and decipher it from there?

That was my thinking.

I like how many people are asking advice on how to build a nid army using the new dex. How the hell are you really going to know 100% before the codex comes out?

BUT to add to the post, Ive heard your suppose to use parts from a carnifex and trygon kit. So its going to be a bit pricey to build one

Well my thinking is that since I am sitting here with a trygon kit and carni kit in front of me I thought I'd throw the question out. I know there is stuff floating out in the dakka warp on the Nids so I thought I'd ask the question if it has been seen.

The real issue is why log on to smack people down?

Just move on if you don't have the answer to the question.

Happy New Year.

They're saying wait until the Codex comes out that way they can help you properly.

I didn't see any negative bashing posts, just wait a bit and there will most likely be heaps of guides.

i saw a post from chapter house that they are making a kit to convert a carnifex into one.

4000 all painted
Tau 3000 paints base coated
Tyranids 16k - 75% painted
Orks - 5000k - 30% painted?

In which case it will more than likely be Navarro thats making the kit (along with the spores and other nid parts)

That picture is too small and too hard to see. I still recommend we wait, for accuracy sake. They also may post a how-to on the GW Website, which will make life easier.

If I don't like the pictures, or GW posts instructing that requires two $50 kits (very likely), I'm just going to ignore them anyways. See that picture next to the Tervigon? That's supposed to be a Tyranofex. Even in that crappy a quality of picture, I can tell I don't like the way it looks at all, and am already working on making my own version.

I certainly don't expect a plastic Tervigon any time soon, and personally really don't want a metal one.

The above pic is i believe the only official one we have from GW (it's literally from the codex, I think) and is annoyingly vague, especially on size. But it would still seem reasonable to assume:
- on a 60mm base (or the larger trygon base?)
- looks vaguely like a carni with scything talons but uses the talons to help walk
- has a much fatter 'belly' than a carni, to hold all those baby gaunts

I too will be interested to see the ChapterHouse conversion - hope they post some preview pics soonish.

But the general idea seems clear - a carni with extra spore banks on the shell (although personally I chop the spore banks off all my carnies anyway) and a new head and belly. I'll quite possibly go for a 'slug' variant with the torso dragging on the ground, pushed forwards by 6 cut-down talons.

That sounds like it would work. The Trygon comes with some extra talons, so you could use them without making the rest of the kit worthless.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
