Ok, What music, if any do, listen to in battle when you are making the Galaxy Burn? Classical such as "The Planets" or "Bolero", Rock with Korn or Rammstein or sci-fi chillout with the Blade runner sound track or Ennio Morricone, Soulfoul R+B Ballards with Diva's ( ), Jay-z giving it some with Linkin park?
Whats the sound track for your Killing fields?

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!
Yeah but isn't that thread Necromancy, hence i've started a new one?

Not sure I would kill for it but Radio 2, there maybe only war but there is also middle of the road beat combos and light hearted banter, all in a non offensive manner!

Paradise Lost - Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us - pretty much the whole album.
Anything by Symphony X, Trivium, most of Lacuna Coil, Soilwork, Children of Bodom, Metallica, Athenium, and some of Evergrey, Nightwish, After Forever, etc.
I usually listen to the Halo soundtracks, whether painting or gaming.
I honestly have no idea how you'd concentrate while listening to death metal.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

LotR soundtrack, it may not be futuristic, but it's epic. I could see even the soundtracks to the MYST games, just weird atmospheric. Hard- Gravity Kills,
Well when I started this thread I would never have predicted that RADIO 2 and Wogan would have been mentioned! and Ken Bruce and Pop master. DAKKA really surprises me at times.

Well, I wanted to start a thread like this too, so I guess I can just use this.
I recently finished the newest version of a CD I made for playing 40k. I tried to gather music which would fit the atmosphere, starting slow and rising from there. I got a bunch of chorus pieces in there as well.
Here's the list.
Incubation: First Contact
Track 2 is from the soundtrack to the "Traitor General" novel from the Black Library. Track 2, Goron resitance. I couldn't find in to youtube.
StarCraft: Terran Theme 1
Lost Planet: Battle Ready

Mass Effect: Exit
Music from Dawn of War was a no-brainer.
Lost Planet has some really good music and it fits fo40k too.
Bionic Commando was a really fun game and the music was awesome.
RE4 had some decent tracks as well.
The first of two Trooper tracks on the CD.
It's a big green monster fighting the military. Sounds like 40k to me.
A shame the game never got out. Nice music though.
Resident Evil 5 has also a very good score with some nice pieces that fit the mood.
Giant Alien Robot Scorpion From The Dessert!
Some really nice music from a Star Wars videogame.
The Space Marine Theme from Dawn of War 2 is pretty epic.
I haven't played the game yet, but the latest Alone in the Dark game has a kick-ass score with lots of choirs.
The best piece of music in Bionic Commando
Had to put some real Ork Music in there.
Stargate is in there too.
We all know Starship Troopers is the best 40k film we'll ever get.
I just love the Metal Gear main theme
And another track from Lost Planet as finale.
That is The Sound of War Vol. 1 - Music for Warhammer 40k. I'm working on CDs for Mordheim, Warhammer Fantasy and Necromunda as well and slowly building and sorting a whole MP3 playlist with music like that for longer 40k battles. Let me know what you think.
try this one from Mike Oldfield, ignore the crap New Age Guff Images.

Wow. That is so NOT what I want to hear during a 40k match. I like Mike Oldflied (at least the one album I have) but that was really weird and didn't sound at all like battles in the war-torn future.
Ennio Morricone, now you're talking my language! Bernard Hermann is a good one too, especially the soundtrack to the Ray Harryhausen Jason And The Argonauts. For rock music, The Who, Jethro Tull, Ten Years After, Yardbirds, Spirit, The Doors.
