If I have a combined Infantry squad with two squads combined, two Heavy Weapons squads, two Special Weapons squads and a PCS is that a potential six scoring units? I believed that each SWS and HWS could be deployed separate from the main platoon body and count as scoring units. Does the PCS also count a separate scoring unit? I've had this argument with a fellow player who felt that they were all part of one large platoon and therefore could only count as scoring once.

Is it a troop *unit*? Yes
Is it a non-vehicle? Yes

Then it is scoring. Each troop unit that is not a vehicle can capture objectives.

Yes, IG Platoons have a crazy number of scoring units.

They all count as scoring separately.

Thanks. I knew I read and interpreted the rules correctly but now i can refer that idiot to this thread. Some people need outside confirmation. If they do not take your word Gwar, then I just won't play him again.

You can also have a space marine tac squad form combat squads to claim two objectives or just have a huge mob or brood spread itself out to be within scoring range of multiple objectives. The limitation your partner is thinking of is purely imaginary.

If he doesn't accept the word of the Great and Mighty Gwar!, he needs to be committed.

But yes, this limitation your friend is coming up with is completely imaginary.

Gwar! either bringing people togther...or tearing them apart...

Hard to imagine a codex with more basic scoring troops choices than IG.

CSM can have unlimited number of scoring troops units. IG can only have 84 in a standard missions FOC.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

You might have noticed that I'm not new. I needed a confirmation for the new players at the club as they seem to think I make up the rules for my benefit, lol. I'm well aware that a single squad can hold two objectives, assault two units etc. I know you can combat tactic. So I came on like I was trolling, I know but that was not my intent.
