I wanna know what the best way to make a fun horde army is. My definite squads are:
10 lootas-150
1 big mek-shokk attack gun-95
1 big mek-kff-85
Should i add 150 boyz? or 6 kanz and 120 boyz? Or something completely different?
I want this list to be as fun as possible while still being able to be decent.

Big mek's with kustom force field to protect your boyz. Then get 3 units of 3 killa kanz, pop these in front of your boyz. The boyz then get a 4+ cover save from the kanz and the kanz get a 4+ cover save from the mek's KFF
Lootas can be good for ranged fire power and hassle things before your boyz make the enemies lines. Two units are better than one though

Depends on your idea of fun I guess. But from what your got as units it looks like the randomness of Orks is fun to you, so a Weirdboy might be entertaining

6 Kans + 120 boyz + KFF = compeditive Also you can go 150 boys + Grot screen. SAG should stick with the Lootas while KFF stays right behind the boys front lines. Deffkoptas are good Anti Tank (with TL Rokkits and Buzsaws) For a horde army on foot its been debated alot here on Dakka, but i would go mostly Slugga Choppa boyz, and walk+run till you smash into them.

Kanz and boyz with a 2nd unit of lootas would add competitiveness but still keep that randomness entertainment edge it seems you are looking for.

If you run the footsloggers, build some movement trays to speed up moving the 100+ models. This is one reason I tend to remain mobile, even in shooty lists (with gunship battlewagons with troop choices inside).
Lootas are great ranged support and help speed up the movement phase at least, since they should never move. At 48" range, the deffgun should cover most of the board and deliver a pounding at anything AV13 or less or high toughness troops. If you're going to take them, and this is a general 40K rule, commit to them and take a lot, at least 2 full units, or your opponent will dedicate themselves to wiping them out and you'll not get your fun out of them.

Thanks
So it seems like i will have a list along the lines of:
Big Mek-SAG(I would like to fit the weirdboy but sadly only two HQ)
Big Mek-KFF
100+ boyz
6 kanz (I am not adding 9 just because there are a lack of points to fit other things)
10 Lootas
I would really like to try a speed freeks army but i want to horde it out. I also do not like the trukks (Big model). I like to deal with small units or mid sized ones like bikes!
I would play speed freeks if i could make a good list but i do not know how to. I attempted a full biker army but my codex had a typo and i found out they only have one wound which depressed me. Is there anyway to make a good hybrid army? I think i will still go with a horde army though unless i can make a good speed freeks army (turbo boosting to assault on second turn is extremely appealing!)

actually did you think about doing mad dok grotsnik to give your lead mob fnp? I played against a list that was 180 boys, kommandos w/snikrot 3 deffcopters mek with a kff and grotsnik and got myself paddled good kff+fnp means alot of shots to drop that 30 man boyz squad and by the time you whittle it down grotsnik just jumps into the nearest squad and now you have to do it all over again, and by that time you are drowning in boyz.

KFF is must for horde list.
Take the other HQ just as you wish. Either is ok. SAG is funny but not that competitive as Grotsnik or Tharaka.

I actually just ran a horde orky army during a small 2k tournament and it was a blast!
It played very well, scared the crap out of most of the other players, and if i would have played my second round a bit better i would have done much better in the tournament.
I ran Ghazzy with 3 megas in a wagon. the megas were complicated with one having a combi scortcha and one with a combi rocketlauncha, and gave all 3 cyborg bodies. This let you spread the wound love around.
then i had 3 megas in a wagon with the same setup as Ghazzys meags.
Then had Mad doc in the lead of a unit of 1 of my 4 30 boy squads. 29 boyz 1 nob with BP and PK. 2 units of shootas and 2 of regular boyz.
then had a unit of 13 lootas and 2 meks.
It is a long setup but once you learn to move quickly its not so bad. your opponents will get on you about creeping a bit with your movement but just ask them if they want to move all 150 units for you.
This army is fairly fluffy but VERY competitive at the same time. Your forcing your opponent to pick out its targets. They wont want to shoot much into mad docs unit as they all have feel no pain and most SM shooting wont get past that. if they start shooting at the 2 battlewagons thats taking fire away from the loots and units of boyz. And they can not ignore the lootas as they will pop just about anything other then a land raider or a LM. There are so many troop choices there that it works well for objective based mission and anhilation, the units are so big its hard to kill them ALL off to get the kill point.
You can cover just about an entire game board with that many units and just swamp and swarm across the board on them.

Lol though that list sounded familiar Hydeckadecka lol. I can say being on the receiving end of that list with mech eldar it was a PITA as there was so much stuff on the board your was no where to run.
Big recommendation though if you plan to run green sea daemon is get yourself so sorta movement trays or practice moving a all those models in a fast way.

Automatically Appended Next Post: and sadly i ran my list wrong against you =/ i had mad dok in a wagon and not with a unit of boyz to give every one of them feel no pain

lol trays! I'll look into that BlueDagger but moving them behind and on terrain could be a challenge...
That Mad Dok strategy sounds good i will definitely try that one. I will have to let go of the SAG Mek though...
With the wound allocation rules, wouldn't the mad dok get hit fast? Or would you put one wound on for every boy until you have allocated one wound to every normal boy and then you put one on the dok?
Mad Dok
KFF Mek
10 Lootas
These are for sure units. How many boyz would you suggest to take in a 1500point army? A full squad takes up a whoopin 220 points and with four squads on the field along with my permanent units there is not much space for expansion. Any ideas?
(Btw thanks for all the help. Dakka is such a wicked site)

The movement tray would mainly be for deployment, with that many models setup can be quite a pain. It's not going to help you all the time but anything you can do to speed things up helps.
And yeah it didn't help that it was a green sea vs mass reserves + hawks. I think if we ever did that again though we would have the knowledge to work faster on both sides.

You can use those trays without worrying about pie plates. You just use twice as many, filling each only halfway full. Stagger your men, like a checkerboard, so they only touch diagonally. Might be a bit of an extra expense, but will speed up your movement quite a bit.

one wound on every boy until you got to the dok, and if one unit is putting 30 wounds on you, you have bigger problems than dok taking wounds :p

Shooting into units and assalting into units you can not single out a target only once you start in base to base contact can you single out a SC unless its some damn SM with his retnu.
All of that should be covered in the multiple close combat part of the BRB.

I am thinking of taking something like 30 ard boyz with him to screen for my other hordes.

Why would you do that? With feel no pain you already get the 6+ save and then a 4+ save. taking them to ard boyz raises the cost of that unit by 120

Their 6+ armour save gets negated by just about every weapon though.
I am willing to take the points though if it boosts the resilience of the mob by a substantial amount as it ups the survivability rate to 75% (I think, don't know how to get the percentage)
So far i am thinking of
KFF Big Mek-85
10 Lootas-150
Grotsnik -160
30 ard boyz-340 (Nob with PK and BP)
15 stormboyz (Nob with PK and BP)-220
30 shoota boyz, 3 Big shootas-235 (Nob with PK and BP)
30 shoota boyz-220 (Nob with PK and BP)
15 Grots with herder-55
15 Grots with herder-55
total-1500
Stormboyz are the strategic part of my army just so my army has a bit of difference in it.

I really want to try stormboyz because i just love the model and characteristics of them. Sadly i may have to do what you suggest as its much more sensible.
I will find a way around it in the mean time as i am still persistent in trying to make them usable.

I would suggest that you take some boyz, some Trukks, and some killa kans, battlewagons too.
While the units you selected at first shoot at the enemy from afar, your Boyz in Trukks assault the other units, with Nobz to help out with the bigger baddies. Battlewagons will definately destroy any tanks or fast attack options that can move around the Ork boyz, while killa kans can provide bodyguard units.

Well play what you want and like. Because in the end it doesnt matter if you win or lose as long as you had fun playing. and you cant have much more fun then a truely orky army where every thing you do is random! toss a wirdboy in there but everything in trucks so when they pop they do ramshckle and have looted tanks so you have a chance at blowing stuff up!
