Emboldened from the wounds inflicted by the impure, Exemplar Cinerators move ahead of their brothers in arms, the Bastions, to breach enemy ranks with flame and steel. Cinerators channel the agony of their wounds into holy rage and are armed with ancient blades and shields passed down from fallen Knights through the centuries. An unquenchable flame flickers across the blade, blazing white-hot when wielded in battle.

Privateer Press, Exemplar Cinerators

Not what I was expecting, I was expecting flamethrower wielding Bastion/Cleansers.

In terms of PP OTT heavy infantry style I like them, but I can't help but wonder what would happen if they tried to walk up a steep hill...

These are hefty models standing on 40mm bases. Equivalent to Terminators.

Space Marine Terminators are $50 for five for comparable models, not much in it though.

They are ruined by the ridiculous sized shoulder pads. If those were gone they'd actually be quite nice looking.

Shoulderpads and silly poses are to PP what skullz, screaming and baldness are to GW.

I actually think they look pretty sweet - far better than the bastions. Swords actually look like swords, too, instead of foam clubs! And price wise they are actually cheaper than the SM Terminators and are better detailed IMHO, though they obviously have less options. If only Menoth Jacks looked cool...

PP should will always be cheaper because it is easily more accessible to get it cheaper and discount from vendors.

Vendors get higher discounts on obtaining WM/H, or at least most of the distributors i know of.

and, its REALLY not hard to find PP at awesome prices.

Used, new, whatever. Its easier than 40k imo. hehe

They are Terminator sized. At least their swords look better than examplars.

PP is not cheaper than GW. Just try totalling up Mk1 armies of 500-750 points and you'll easily spend quite a bit of coin.

I haven't really looked into the Mk2 rules so I'm not sure how much that changes things, but I'd imagine not by much.

Also, these look just like the Exemplar bastians with different weapons.

I think they will most likely have Defensive Line, as well.

Well the point values change a great deal in Mk2. A 750 pt army in MK 2 is HUGE. But an army is an army.

I never thought it was all that much cheaper unless you were trying to build a huge collection with a lot of options for play.

I think these are nice and beefy.

I'm from the future. The future of space

In Mk2, the typical game is 35 points (about the same as a Mk1 500 point game). A large game is 50 points (about the same as a 750 point game.

Privateer Press' plastics are not the same as GW's. If you're looking for what GW offers in a plastic kit you'll be disappointed. They may as well be metal-- they're incredibly detailed and are a harder and sharper plastic. They're not styrene and plastic model glue doesn't work on them. They're more comparable to Forge World's resin (if it had no bubbles and miscasts) than to GW's plastics.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I actually like them. I'd like to get a squad just to paint up.

Might even persuade me to pursue WM in it's entirety.
