I noticed on the burna boyz and lootaz sprue it gives you enough body parts to make lootas OR burnas. So i used ork boys which were spare, chopped of the arms .And because the sprue gives you all the bits you need i made lootas and burnas from one box, just using 5 extra boyz wiv der arms lopped off.

do you think this is a good idea to save money?

Yes.

I would recommend, though, that you refrain from making thread titles in all caps. It tends to irritate some people.

In the Webway.

This is quite a common method, and im sure a lot of people, including myself use it. I wouldn't get too proud of yourself for coming up with it. But well done anyways.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I think it is great, although note GW only gives 4 Burnas, 4 Lootas and 5 bodies I think it is because they want us to hate them.

Nah, tacobake. GW just naturally assumes that we're all wild about the KMB, and really want to use three mismatched, useless, dangerous weapons in our specialist squads.

QFT. God, I hate them for selling the box with only 4 "actual" burnas and/or lootas in it. There's no advantage or use for the mek at all. At least you can convert the KMB guns reasonably enough to makes "counts as" lootas, which is what I do with them and every big shoota I get, as I'll be damned if I'm going to buy 11+ boxes of lootas to field three units.

I have to disagree here. Having a bunch of meks follow behind your kan wall or dread bash list can be very sweet.

Immobilized!! NO.... wait I have 6 meks that can fix it.

I used the WFB orcs because they're slightly cheaper to buy than Ork boxes. Plus, you get to use your excess shootas and so on from your normal boyz mobs. And it gives you more variety in bodies.
(I had enough spare round bases that it wasn't an issue, of course.)

That way you can make extra big shoota and rokkit launchas from the set too!

Absolutely! I run a Kan list with three KMB Kans and when you have a couple min sized Burna Boyz squad behind it with three KMB Meks each the hijinx ensue, especially when you have the Big Mek w/KFF also herding the whole blob.

Anything that gets within 24" get pelted with Mega-Blasta death, and if it dares close to assault range I'm throwing S10 DCCWs at them in frightening numbers. Even if I do need 4's to hit... that's 50/50.

"mega=blasta death" means two hits on average. Not exactly the best source of damage.

Except that vehicle squadrons treat "Immobilized" as "Wrecked." You never get a chance to repair, since repair attempts happen during your next shooting phase. A mek in a battlewagon or something *might* make sense, but you can have grot riggers (or the big mek w/ KFF) do the repairing instead.

And KMBs hit on 5+ (maybe you're thinking of killa kanz BS 3?) for mek, and "Gets Hot!" on a 1. You will hit yourself half as often as you hit any enemy. Not a very reasonable exchange.

In exchange, you lose one more burna template/power weapon or Deffgun. Definitely not worth it.

Good point there regarding kans, however dreds aren't in squads, and the meks can still repair damaged weapons if I recall correctly.

True in this case, and also for kanz (at least as far as repairing weapons). But the Big Mek w/ KFF can likely do all the repairing you'll need on a given turn; give him oilers if you're worried about the 4+ chance. Again, I just think you're better off without the regular meks. I wish they had a point, since they include one in each 5-man box set, but they just don't compute, at least not in this codex.

Can 1 mek repair more than 1 damaged item per turn?

1 per turn per mek, so if this is a concern, load up meks, I suppose.

That's it. Meks repair weapon destroyed results and can keep up with multiple weapon destroyed results on the squad of Kans. For those that missed it, I put KMBs on the Kans. The Meks get them too just for laughs, but they rarely shoot since repairs take the place of shooting. Oh, I could put Burnas on them I suppose but if I get into Assault it's the Kans DCCWs I want and not a Burna on a Sv6 Mek...
