What template (blast, Big blast, flamer) does breath of chaos use?

The template template. There is no such thing as a "flamer template" or "blast template" - there are blast MARKERS and templates.

To clarify that a little, whilst the terminology in the codexes is sometimes a little loose, 'Template' refers to the teardrop shaped template.

The round ones are Blast Markers, although are occasionally (and incorrectly) referred to as Blast Templates.

There is only one template, and that is the Teardrop Shaped one.

And when people talk about pie-plates, I thought they meant the teardrop shaped template as that is shaped like a slice from a pie. Turns out they most often mean a blast marker

Because they don't address them as slice-of-pie-plates.

What about the large template/markers from Apocalypse?

The large teardrop is called a "Hellstorm template" while the 7" and 10" Blast Markers are called the "Massive Blast marker" and "Apocalyptic Blast marker" respectively. The "Clover" shaped marker is called the "Apocalyptic Barrage template".

Thats what i call them in the game, and my oppenents just LOL when i say Lil bills comming for yeah....

I remember those back in the day ...

To this day I am saddened by missing out on the use of the small flame template and the sonic weapon template.

Isn't it great that they brought back the need for run counters?

Who know in Sixth ed there might be Over watch again....
