Hey guys, just a few questions regarding the rules for combi-weapons.

1 - Wound allocation - In a unit with standard weapons and a few combi-weapons I'm assuming wound allocation follows normal procedure. What if half of the combi-weapons have been fired, are these models still in the combi-weapon category, revert to standard weapons or fill a third category of 'spent' combi-weapons?

2 - Declare shooting. This maybe a standard rule that I cant find, do the type of weapons being fired need to be declared for the whole squad at the start of shooting. Say you use 1 combi-weapon shot (planning to save the rest), if this shot is unsuccessful can you then shoot another?

Cheers

yes fired combi weapons still count as combi weapons and yes you have to decide how many of the combi shots you are using before rolling dice.

The way how i do it is I declare, Im fireing a hvy weapon at a said squads, i roll to hit and wound., then i declare im fireing assualt. combi weapons at the said squad.,( since hvy and assault weapons usually mean dead models...) then i declare bolter fire.

Or i Just declare what dice are what weapons Large one is Hvy, the blue one are assalt/combi, and white are bolters and roll them all at one time.

This is actually not legal, you must declare all shooting before rolling any dice, infact, you have to declare what weapons are firing before you even check range, as can be seen on page 16 of the core rulebook, so if that tank *looks* like it's 12" away, you might have to think hard before declaring those combi-melta shots and finding out you are out of range.

Regarding wound allocation, there has been much made of this, but the rulebook is pretty clear IMO, models that are "Identical in gaming terms" are defined as those that "have the same profile of characteristics, the same special rules and the same weapons and wargear", and these identical models take saving throws as a group.

While a Combi weapon may no longer function as anything other than a bolter, there's nothing in it's rules which say it ceases to be a combi-weapon, or becomes anything else.

So the act of firing off a Combi weapon is insufficient to distinguish one member of a squad from another with an unfired Combi weapon, you would roll thier armour saves together, and assuming you failed any, would presumably remove the spent combi weapons before the unspent ones.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).
