Well, I've been piddling with the Tau for about a year now and for the most part haven't been that motivated to paint them. Instead of spending alot of money on new models and increasing my ever growing pile of gray plastic, I made it my New year's resolution to get this army completely painted. I had originaly decided on a garish looking bright blue and orange scheme, but after looking through the codex I have kind of fallen in love with the Sa'cea Sept colors. I plan on painting one unit a month (school and work permitting), which should allow me to have a pretty good sized force completely painted by the end of the year. Here is My schedule for the next couple of months:

January: Stealth Team and Hammerhead
Feburary: 6 man Fire warrior unit + Devilfish
March: Pirhana Squadron
April: 6 man Fire warrior unit + Devilfish

That's all I have scheduled so far, as I don't want to get too ahead of myself. Well, without further ado, Here are some pics of the Stealth Suit team that I finished today:

And some close-ups of the team leader:

I hope to have another update soon, as I am getting ready to prime the already assembled Hammerhead. Comments and criticisms are always welcome!

Wow, those are cool. I have to say i also prefer sa'cea over any other septs, especially t'au. I like the crisp clean colours, perfect for tau. Good work!!

Been working alot on the Hammerhead this week, and I've got the turret just about done I think. All that remains is to apply decals, but I'm gonna wait until the micro-sol I ordered arrives. Will post pics when I get home from work.

I haven't always been a fan of the colours of the Sa'cea sept but you make them look good!

Dear lord. This alone gave me a headache.

In other news, nice looking tank, but i feel that there are large areas on the tank that have nothing going on, and they look kinda boring. I dunno if you have plans for them or anything, nor do i have any ideas about how to make it look a bit less flat, but yeah, just my 2 cents

Yeah I kinda feel the same way, but like you, I have no idea what to do with the blank space. That's the problem with tau tanks, alot of flat, blank areas.

Maybe decals and sept markings? Camo spots like on the box art? Some grime from the dust thrown up from the grav-plates?

Been quite a while since I've had the time to work on my cadre due to school ramping up, but with the semester winding down I've had some time to paint up a devilfish. I'm really happy with how it turned out, but some dust must have gotten kicked up while the matte varnish was drying and now there are some white flecks all over it! Very unhappy about that. It shouldn't be visible at game play distance so I guess it's not a total disaster. Sorry for the not so great pics, but I don't have my setup here right now. As always comments and crits are welcome!

Suggestion, drill you gun barrels, and give them a touch of boltgun metal or chainmail at the muzzle.

A lot. 5K +
