Please keep in mind that this is a WIP, and it's also my first real kitbash. Questions after the pictures.

I got an AoBR dreadnought on Ebay to convert to a CSM dread.

Obviously, the paint is quite haphazard, as I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do. It needs more paint, touch up, weathering/damage, wash/ink, etc.

You can see that I used the cowling, helmet, staff, and apron from the Chaos Sorcerer Lord sprue (left over when I made the CSM Termie Lord). The spikes are left over from a Chaos Rhino, and I'm not sure where the 'Nid skull is from...my main army is Tyranids, so I have a ton of bits.

My question is this: Is this "chaosy" enough? Is the weapon complement "tourney legal" as is? Any info would be appreciated.

On the modeling part it makes the cut, nice job. I think you have a good idea with the paint job. Having some Chaos icons and such painted on and/or using some transfers if you can have them, will complete the look.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking here...
Do you have the codex?
Looks to me that you can buy this loadout for 100pts.
You may want to put smoke launchers and a searchlight on it for serious wysiwyg.

The model looks good, not too ott but still chaosy enough, good job.

Looks great !!!

Don't over-do the spikes or it goes from grim-dark to comical.

Finessing the paint scheme and adding battle damage (chipped paint) will take it to the next level.

Nice work !!

The land of cotton.

I would certainly have no issues accepting this as a Chaos Dread. All the right elements are there:

Skulls... check.
Spikes... check.
Skulls on spikes... check.
Dread... check.
Chaos icons... check.
Chaos Helmet head... check.

Like others this actually appeals to me more than an "over the top" conversion. Less is More!

Looks great, better than the "normal" chaos dread!

Thanks to all of you. I appreciate it more than you'd know...I'm getting very frustrated at my lack of ability to get all these models finished quickly. I am again encouraged!

I think it's chaosy enough, but like ANGRY! said, you should at least desecrate the star and skull symbol, as it is an imperial symbol.

I think it looks great! I keep looking for AOBR Dreads to convert to Chaos and I'm glad to see it's possible to not only do it, but do it well!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Actually, just remove the bones and replace them with four additional points to that star with varied lengths.
