So I always wanted to play a catachan army. I just started 40k again and haven't played since eye of trror first started. I like the new guard codex but is there any wAY to play an old school catachan army? If not, then what's the poin of all these cool new catachan plastic models.. (sorry if spelling is wonky, on iPhone and it spells randomly for me haha)

Spoiler:
I think the point is Character/Flavor. Also, if Memory serves, there's a Special Character that can only be played if it's a Catachan army.

EDIT: Never mind. I'm a crazy person.

You have three catachan special characters, Staken, Marbo, and harker. Harker makes a vet squad catachan devils. Use them if you want to have a catachan style army. Plus, there are still sentinels and vets can be upgraded with demo charges. So you can still do it if you want to.

Ya, but I wanted the whole, a lot of your units can ambush and you can only have sentinels and booby traps.. Seemed fun to play haha

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

A friend of mine had a catachan drop-strike army, where his entire army (minus a couple of tanks) would deep-strike onto the table with meltas and heavy flamers. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Like I said above, I stopped playing right when Eye of Terror started, so all those plastic Cadians and Catachans, just hit shelves last time I touched Warhammer 40k.. so they are very new to me as apposed to spending $10 on two steel legion guys haha

So, pretty much though, no catachan army? Because Harker is cool, but one squad of devils does not equal a whole army lol

Just play it as a "counts as" army. Play using all catachan models that "count as" the new IG codex. That way you get all catachan but you have the new rule set.
