2 Opponents faced off, while I took pictures and played the part of rules nazi.

Mission: Kill Points
Deployment: Spearhead

After deploying (as seen in above pictures), the Eldar went first. They shuffled to reposition, and fired off some random shots to kill a few power armored models. The Painted dire avengers moved up on the west flank though a destroyed land raider, and bladestormed the chosen squad, scoring 4 kills, 2 of them plasma guns!



The Chaos player reacted by passing his morale check, and advancing forward. A full normal player's turn away from assault, the chaos player looked to his daemon prince to pull some pesky T3 elves into an early close combat. He rolls his psychic test, and comes out with an 11! This puts his terminators, his prince and Abbadon out in the open with nothing to attack. The chosen Kill 2 dire avengers with a volley of bolter/plasma fire.



The Eldar jump at the opportunity, and open up with everything they've got. Fire dragons, wraithguard, brightlances and pulse lasers hit the Terminators right in the 2+ save, and make them fall back on their 4+ inv. The chaos player imitates his chosen's shooting rolls, and doesn't pass a single save. Abbadon is left wounded with 2 termies. The reapers then knock 2 wounds onto the daemon prince, and the pathfinders add another. End of the phase calls for LD, and abbadon and his termies flee the board on another dreaded 11. The dire avengers attack, surprising the opponent with their defend ability (sounds stupid right?). They win the melee, and the chaos marines test at -1, and roll.... another 11! they are ovverun by the avengers, who move into cover. (a serpent also stunned the pred)



The chaos player is understandable demoralized. He continues the fight by charging into the wraithguard, and moving his obits into H.flamer range. The H.flamers wipe the fire dragons, and the marines kill the 'seer and 2 guards. Another drops from no retreat. The chosen shoot another 3 DA, leaving the squad with 2 and the exarch.



The Eldar player sweeps up the pieces, and kills off all the remaining units, through another round of low ap death, and another railed morale save... on an 11. Swooping hawks close down the game by ending the predator.



Moral of the story: Don't depend on Lash to win games for you.

I was going to say "This is an awesome fight with great paintjobs on both sides" until I noticed most of the chaos stuff seemed to be all black, and there were unpainted dire avengers, still, the stuff that is fully painted is great, and a cool game! (A lot of 11s rolled today)

Dang pointy eared xenos... cool board and pics, too bad the battle wasn't closer! I am wary of Morale with my Black Legion as well, I never attach my HQ's to non-fearless units. You can use Oblits if you don't use Cult troops for a fearless unit to join, you can even deep strike with them.

PS Oblits don't get heavy flamers, only twin linked normal ones.

That was cool Eldar totally destoyed Chaos.

that really sucks that the evilness that is chaos would be defeated by space faeries :( terribad rolls ftl!

Game sounds like the equivalent of M:TG mana-screw. Shame on Chaos for leaving his stuff so exposed to a failed lash, but the morale and other crap-rolls on top of that leave a sour taste.

That is on of the best victories EVER!
