Who know why...

Apparently, when GW released fzorgle princess, only if it is not too ugly, it would sell very very well.

Still in limbo. Probably still ugly as hell, too.

The pics i've seen weren't great, but with a plastic kit you would be able to convert it much more easily as well. Annoyingly i really like the torso from the soulgrinder model but it is way too big for the metal DP.

What i need is a more armoured looking DP, ideally with wings of some sort. Been looking at plastic Gundam models which i might be able to cut up and use bits of. Does anyoen have any pics of converted DPs with wings/jump packs etc? I saw one once with raptor packs stuck on the "arms" of the backpack, it didn't look too bad.

I was going to say that GW realized that it was a rather ugly looking model that could and should be so much better, so sent it back for redesign.

Then I remembered the new Minotaurs and, shudder, the Razorgor.

So really, we have no idea...

There is a chance that it is coming out alongside the Battle Missions releases in March.

BUT.. I've heard several other release dates that were equally plausible before and we've seen nothing.

There is some talk that the recut Predator box set/kit will be released with the Battle Missions book too...maybe...

That's unlikely. The plastic DP looks more like a WHFB model (and indeed it is in the Warriors of Chaos army book), and the Battle Missions release will be nothing but 40k so GW can sell more of their new models to go with the new book.

Demon Princes are also in the Chaos marine codex and the chaos demons one as well. In the latter they come sans armour as standard too.

I guess it depends if they're finally going to release the plastic seekers, X months after everyone has either bought the older models or improvised something instead.

It's not the in Chaos Marine codex. The metal one is though.

I haven't looked at either of Daemon books properly yet. Was it definitely the 'happy child' DP?

The model's not, but that doesn't really mean much.

the kit can be used for both.

The Daemon Prince is in all of the aforementioned codices. GW can make a generic, multipart model to create the appropriate model for any of the armies in one box. That is just logical and would be far more profitable than making several different models for each specific army.

I suppose there are ways around the awkward pose and "not enough fiber" faces, though really at the prices GW charges, models shouldn't 'need' a lot of work to be acceptable looking right out of the box...

One box for all codices, very reasonable. Some specific accessories could be easily added (like some power armor pieces for a 40K prince).

But...one kits for all 4 divides...maybe not a best idea. An one share the same body parts with fat guys?

I like the plastic DP. if they ever do release it, I'm planning to get one to use as a generic greater demon for my CSMs.

The fantasy-esque plastic DP is so-so for me, but should definitely happen, for bits and conversion if nothing else. BUT in Planetstrike aren't there a couple glimpses of a new 40k DP? He looks quite a bit like the metal dude, but has a wider stance and thinner limbs, etc (p. 70). If that's not a conversion but a plastic power-armored prince, then I want. I own 3 metal princes and would replace them all for lighter, sexier versions

Sadly, I think that version has been 'confirmed' as a conversion...

I would love to see a plastic DP, maybe with sprues for each 4 gods as well as generic.

Will it happen? Probably not, as Alpharius said, it seems the plastic DP was infact a conversion, if/when chaos gets an update, then we may see things like Plastic DPs or Plastic (Generic) Greater/Lesser Daemons. Untill then, it seems people are stuck with converting.

I made a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch using the Chaos Daemons Lord of Change (NOT the Forgeworld one) and a Daemon Prince and a lot of Greenstuff but there is a MUCH better one out there (I believe on this forum) and some rather interesting ones as well.

The trick to converting/Making a custom DP is to make sure you have AT LEAST the equivalent size of a normal DP. The GW Staff (At my local store) recommended I merge Deciever and Nightbringer to make my DP, thankfully I did not listen, had I done this my DP would not be Tournement Legal (Allthough, a Tzeentch Daemonprince in a tourny might get laughed at either way :p ).

I have to say
I was at Warhammer world
I held 3 versions of the Daemon prince in my own hands (not a friend of a friend's sister told me)
They were all based off of the same kit (different heads, wings etc.) And the painted models were stunning.
Now, this was about 18 months ago when the original sneak peek surfaced, but they weren't conversions, and they looked great.

Was this kit plastic? Or were they things like the Forge World DPs.

its a shaem cause the metal 40k one really fits the chaos marine feel. just wish the head was easier to conver/replace.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

To be clear: The Plastic Deamon Prince is in fact a reality.

The 'conversion' that I was talking about was the 40k-ish one in the Planetstrike book...

I was hoping for a plastic 40k DP. This is the depressing myth.

The 40K one that was in the Planetstrike book is not a conversion. There are parts on the kit to make both a 40K and WFB version. Now will it ever be released is another question entirely...

I'm thinking the 40k one may very well be a conversion of the fantasy plastic DP, but I really doubt that mystical plastic kit comes with a set of power armored legs, arms, torso, head, backpack, etc in addition to the nekkid square-baser guy.

Those new Minotaurs are still a LOT better than the old ones. They aren't great, but I don't want to rip my intestines out of my nose when I see them. Because that's how bad the old ones are.

I also think the paintjobs they gave them don't help. The contrast is just WAY too much. between the skin and the shading.
