Give me an extra head and arms and I'll gladly make two DPs for the price of one I didn't think the plastic one looked that bad, just different.

Except for the "toes" if that's what they're called. Putty some proper hooves and they'll look better.

Then I remembered the new Minotaurs and, shudder, the Razorgor.

So really, we have no idea...

Those new Minotaurs are still a LOT better than the old ones. They aren't great, but I don't want to rip my intestines out of my nose when I see them. Because that's how bad the old ones are.

I also think the paintjobs they gave them don't help. The contrast is just WAY too much. between the skin and the shading.

Well, this is all a matter of opinion, personal taste and all that, but really...

The new plastic minotaurs suffer from some bizarre mutated form of Elephantiasis ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephantiasis ), cartoonish musculature and early 80's bad Wrestling body hair shaving.

Well, you know, in my opinion of course!

...that is definately coming out?

Definitely, a form of the word "finite", "infinite" is another form, etc., not "definately". For some reason, this has become one of the most common spelling errors I see on game forums. Why did this word get an "a" in it all of the sudden? And yes, by all appearances from GW print materials showing or mentioning the model, the plastic Daemon Prince is definitely a planned release, but since no date has been announced patience will be required.

The new plastic minotaurs suffer from some bizarre mutated form of Elephantiasis
According to the GW Online Store listing for the new Minotaurs, they "are massive bull-headed monstrosities that constantly hunger for blood and meat. Twice the height of a man and substantially muscular, their horns can eviscerate with a single thrust." I guess when they say "substantially muscular", they are not fooling around. No hyperbole there, the models do portray them as "substantially muscular".

Good point!

Hurrah! for truth in advertising!

Boo! for poorly designed miniatures!

I don't know why, but I am slowly beginning to get the distinct impression you are not pleased with the aesthetics of the new Minotaurs.

Well yes, but more on topic, I'm not happy with the Plastic Daemon Prince too.

I'd love for the delay to be due to the fact that they're redesigning it because it looks rather lame, but I don't think that's the case.

Maybe they're redesigning it to be a combo WFB/40K kit though?

Who knows?

I say let them take their time and get it right.

The Razor-poomba and minotaurs will haunt my nightmares forever. They have no need of a Daemon Prince friend.

There has been some talk of the new Daemon Prince model having parts on the sprue that look distinctly "Chaos Marine". Having a few distinctly 40K bits in the kit would certainly boost sales, so I'm hopeful. More options and parts are always good and are one of the best things to me about the move from metal to plastic.

well...

I've heard that they are starting working on different chaos codex with different books for every important legion. Don't know if this is true and when it will hit the stores in the next years... but perhaps the remodeling of the DP is due to this.

Who knows. Definitly we NEED a DP of plastic. I was having a hard time to glue that damn model toghether and it still loose pieces if I move it strangely.

I've bought my last models from GW on October 10th, 2011. Since then I've bought none, I am against their price policy. Screw them.

If the plastic 40k daemon prince is going to be the fantasy daemon prince with some extra 40k armor plates, does anyone else predict a possible drop in armor save when the Chaos codex gets redone? Maybe to 4+?

From the pictures of the Daemon Prince, it looked really bad so I'm happy that it has been postponed or whatever.

Don't get comfy yet. They could have postponed so they can spend time making it worse. They managed it with the Beastmen...

I really like that new chaos sorceror.

I would easily use him as a demon prince, not to mention get me another one for Dark Heresy.

He's made me go dust off my old guys and maybe look into getting back into playing fantasy.

@Kurgash, there is a picture in the Planetstrike (or Planetary Empires, ATM I don't recall which one) that shows the forces of chaos including a Plastic(looking) Daemon prince which caused many a Chaos players eyes to widen and many a GW Employee (Misled or otherwise) to begin crossing their fingers for this new Plastic DP kit. From what I understand, there exists a Fantasy Plastic Daemon Prince model { http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/1985/gwdemonprinceey1.jpg } that may or may not be released, however, the plastic 40K DP from the picture is supposedly just a conversion, and thus, we will have to simply convert the Fantasy Plastic model (If/when it comes out if it is not already in stores. I don't personally keep up with Fantasy).

Hope that helps.

As long as the sword gets toned down, I'll be happy. Right now, that huge fat blade just looks horrible. Otherwise it's not the worst thing, but I do hope they do some more work on it.

What would be nice would to get something like...

A generic Sword

A 3 dot Scythe (nugle)

A Male/Female Signed whip (Slannesh)

Khorne's weird symboled Axe

and Tzeentch's "S" thing on a staff (Or at least a polearm)

With alt heads respectively. So that DPs could actually represent their gods...

I like the idea of having a different weapon to represent each god and chaos undivided.

I also wanted to say that I don't think it's absolutely important to have armor plates in the kit as a demon prince's hide may indeed be tough enough to ward off most a lot of incoming fire.
