These clubs/sports teams are or have been owned by George N. Gillett, Jr. and Tom Hicks, who are also the current owners of my beloved but, alas, sadly floundering Liverpool FC. What are your opinions and thoughts of them with regards to their stewardship of the respective properties ?

There's a lot of issues and concern to do with debt over here, they keep saying they have plans and financing in place, basically.. are they trustworthy enough with regards to this in your experiences ?

Oh... and if so, are any of the above teams vaguely worth watching or seeing in their respective sports.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

They're idiots of course, how dare they treat a corporate branded stock market listed "football club" like a business venture, who do they think they are: lets send them death threats.

...and that's why I prefer cricket.

Hicks Jr.'s emails make me think he's perfectly suited to owning/running a football club, he's just a decade or two late.

To add to that, a scouser being called a **** face is about as shocking as Josef Fritzel not being nominated for parent of the year. Imagine adolf hitlers surprise when he didn't secure the Jewish vote.

The Montreal Canadiens are not exceptionnal lately, but you are more likery to see a "Montreal Canadiens" flag than the real canadian flag. (or any other flag)

as a Canadians fan im ok with the owners (always have been), they havent pulled any bone headed moves lately (although they treat their farm team like a wishing well) id wait and see, these guys know the good teams to invest in so its kinda like a shot in the arm for your team.

One of the greatest parts of my life was seeing the Canadiens fall to obscurity. And then for my Bruins to come back (admittedly from the same obscurity), and sweep them in 09.

I'm a fan of the Dallas Stars (and the MN Wild). Particularly because the Dallas Stars were at one point the Minnesota North Stars. Team got sold due to not enough support for a new arena.

So that is why I pay 1/2 an iota of attention to them.

I thought I answered it quite well... I think the owner is great because the Habs have failed under him. Glorious days indeed.

They are all mediocre at best right now. The Rangers have had 3 winning seasons in the last 10 years. I think Dallas/Arlington payed for most of their new ballpark. They did pay Alex Rodtriguez 250 million dollars to play for them, and then traded him and paid half his salary for the yankees to get rid of him. The stars had a few good seasons but are ok right now. Don't know about Richard Petty He was part of the group that ran Corinthians in Brazil to ground before he quit and ran away. They were relegated and on the verge of bankruptcy I think.
Sorry amigos!
It could be worse Al Davis could be your owner....
