Anyone seen any info on this? Been looking, but can't find anything I haven't already read. Sounds cool to me, though. What do you guys think? I figured here would be a cool place to discuss it. Point out to me if this is in the wrong place, I'm new.

There's been alot of talk about it. I think I saw some Concept Art somewhere.

It's either going to be incredibly cool, or incredibly stupid (see Warhammer Online).

aye warhammer online.......

that one is such bloody fun to play, but at the same time its just sooooo broken!!!!!!! They keep releasing new broken patches without fixing the old ones. must belong to the school of quantity over quality.

An warhammer 40k mmo would be pretty cool, but i don't think it would fly as the numbers playing would lead to dead servers....

Its supposed to be only about 2 and a half years away, they should have atleast opened up an official website for it by now, or forums for it.

By now, the general concept should be finalized, since they HAVE been working on it for about 3 years now.

Here's a Kotaku page with a bunch of concept art. It's being made by the same studio that made Darksiders I think - it's at least got the same art director.

I have a feeling any titans in the game are going to be like the STanks in WAR: neat little background stuff to admire and look at.

That stuff from Kotaku has nothing to do with the 40kMMO ... They stole the artist portfolio without permission and posted information and damaged the artist credibility and name since he worked for the game company working on the 40k Mmo.

Ummm...somewhere...

Personally i don't think an mmo would work at all, i couldn't imagine (fluffwise) an Eldar trading with say a human on a human planet where the essalarchy (i don't know how to spell it if someone could fix it please) would exist and then going and finding a space marine walking around randomly and asking him if he wanted to go on a quest to rescue his tau friends from some ork clan...in just doesnt work at all! Unless everyone was an inquisitor hunting down xeno, heritics and chaos scum

- "Do not believe in me who believes in you, do not believe in you who believes in me, but believe in you who believes in yourself! DUMBASS!"
~Dark Eldar- Pirates of the Crystal Moon - 2400 points 38/15/4
~Pre-heresy Luna Wolves- WIP! (Probably gonna be a while)
~Recently sold sisters, GW ruined them for me their burning of xeno's will be remembered! (Friend bought them back for me, making them work, statement so far half stands after a lesson learnt)
~ SKAVEN - 1000 points and growing, just have assassinate a few warlords to get my way...need more cheese...

Yeah and i would imagine some races just straight wouldn't be playable (Necrons and Tyranids) because they have no personalities/free will. This sucks because Necrons are my favorite army.

"Liberty is never unalienable; it must be redeemed regularly with the blood of patriots or it always vanishes." - Robert A. Heinlein

Acheron Tomb Legion (shelved until codex update)
Revenants of Khaine Corsair Fleet (2000 and growing)
Blood Reapers Chaos Warband (World Eaters, Iron Warriors, and Death Guard) The only army I actually win games with!

That's why they probably won't be playable. GW said "All 40k races would be represented" but that doesn't necessarily mean playable. I figure we could expect an Order vs. Disorder type thing, or something akin to the 4 original Dawn of War races.

Also Darkwynn, where did you hear it was stolen? I haven't heard anything akin to that.

From the source itself.

The artist that created those lives in Austin and is part of our gaming club also helps BOLS with some things when needed.

sadly Kotaku got it off somewhere else and posted it as official content which then turn got this guy fired. Its a sad story to see because obviously the people of no ethics and haven't cared about other peoples well being when they posted that information.

Those pictures are just work he did in his personal portfolio way before to get a job there.

Age of Reckoning would have been a brilliant game if they'd just fixed it and I would still be playing it... I actually preferred it to WoW in many respects.

As for a 40k MMO... I am cynical I am afraid, I want to see an online multiplayer FPS, but nothing more...
