So I ordered this regular Rhino Stormbolter from a bits supplier, and I got this rather mysterious stormbolter bit than neither I nor the most experienced guy in my group can identify. Here it is in all its mysterious glory:

It's made of a harder plastic than most GW kits I've dealt with and although it may not show up in the picture, the gray is significantly lighter in shade. The mount and hatch replacement plug are exactly the same as the ones that show up on the Rhino accessory sprue. However, are both made of the same hard lightly colored plastic as the stormbolter, so I'm assuming they were part of the same kit.

Does anyone know what kit this might have come from?

It's from the IG Tank Accessory Sprue.

yeah those ig stormbolter a re lil bit to chunky for the space marine tank whatsits but you can always have a go, assumign your using it for a marine army

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

It is chunky, but I like the lines and old school styling of the weapon. However, I don't like the way it looks mounted on the hatch plug at all. So I'll probably put it on one of those taller cupola mounts and see how that works.

Its funny that IG make the outside of the waepons bigger but in truth space marine weapons are the same(if not larger) calibers.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.
