OK, OK, I am the guy who mocked Hosts in his tactica (now offline alas).

But I just reread Eisenhorn. And I want to try out a radical DH army.

Anyone tried it?

Can those bozos ever work?

Their only real problem is the lack of Eternal Warrior in my opinion.

Sure they're a little expensive but very cool. It seems like the best way is to go with 3 but that's super expensive.

Fun Fact:

If you run three they need to kill all of them to get one KP.

I love them, but alas instant kill is far to common.

Y'know why not. I alway meant my =I= force to be radical (RADICAL!) but never tried.

I agree you need 3 so you can count on at least 1 useful power when the time comes.

It's been awhile since I've cracked open my DH codex, but IIRC don't they suffer from the randomness problem? I guess I need to go have another look at them, but I remember thinking that they could potentially be a great wound-soak.

I don't know, the mandatory Inquisitor and Instant Death are a huge turn off for an otherwise decent unit IMO...while the price is less than ideal.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

The basics are 1-3 for one elite pick, 4W, S6, T4, 4+ inv for 85 points a model.

You get 6 powers but have to roll each turn to see which the DH uses. Oh and d6 attacks.

So it will never be a top teir pick but for a lark I could do a DH force or include them and an inquisitor in my IG force.

There is a Daemonhost tactica on Bell of Lost Souls that is pretty interesting:

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/11/breathing-life-into-daemonosts.html

Having read it, I quite fancy trying out a 2000 pt Dark Angels army with radical Inquisitor allies, including 3 Daemonhosts -- liking the idea of hiding them till they get the Teleport power, then DSing them off the Ravenwing bike homers.

The problem is you can't go cheapo Inquisitor, you have to invest in an Inquisitor Lord to then be able to get DaemonHosts...

Could be good, could be bad (if you don't want the table-wide hood and Mystic combo.)

I considered running 3 deamonhost in my mech guard as counter attack units. my IG being in transports negates the bad part of the deamonhost.I would then include the inq. lord with badass hood/mystic combo.

even in the future nothing works!
