This may be a very dumb question but I'll ask anyway...The way I understand it multiple independent characters can join a normal squad. Is this correct? I see that it says in the rules that they can form multi-character units so I'm assuming this means they can form with regular troops as well. I'm sure it's painfully obvious but I want to make absolutely sure before I field a squad of termies with a captain and a chaplain (with the chaplain being along for both flavor and the re-rolls).

Yes, ICs can join squads. You can even join Multiple ICs to a single squad

But can two independent characters join one another? And then be joined by a third?

Yes and even be joined by a 4th and 5th ... Hell find a codex with enough IC and you could have a unit of 20 IC (or more )

Yes, ICs can join each other to form a unit of 2 ICs. If you are allowed a 3rd IC in your army, then sure, a third IC can join that unit.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Kind of a secondary question....

If a HQ choice consists of between 1-3 models (that don't need to keep coherency), IE...Dark Eldar haemonculi - do they count as individual kill points?
