Khorne Rhino Driver with Destroyer

Hey guys, here’s my list- any input would be greatly appreciated. I figure I can start with my 2 zerk squads in the land raiders (HQ with one of them) and my tank buster CSMs in a rhino. The plague marines could cover the asses of the tanks and hold home objective and I can deep strike in the oblits for some additional cover in the back and terms to take down some tanks. I know the HQ is a risk, but whats a Khorne list without some spice?

HQ:

Chaos Lord
-Daemon Weapon
-MoK

Elite:

5x Terminators
-1 PF, 5 combi meltas

Troops:

10x Berzerkers
-Skull Champion /w PF

9x Berzerkers
-Skull Champion /w PF

7x Plague Marines
-Plague Champion /w PF
-2 Plasma Guns

10x CSM
-2 melta-guns
-Asp. Champ. w/ PF and combi-melta
-Icon of Khorne
-Rhino w/ combi-melta

Heavy Support:

Land Raider -contains HQ and 9 berzerkers

Land Raider -contains berzerker squad

3x Obliterators

Total: 1995

I'm new to the game, and I'm only going to comment because I talked to someone today about Land Raiders and their uses.
Unlike the Space Marine version, Chaos Land Raiders can only move 6" and shoot 1 weapon. That sucks.
If you want to get your Berserkers into range and assault, you've just spend almost 1/4 of your points to do so.
Rhinos still work very well, even if you can't assault the turn you disembark.

For the points you've saved (440) by not buying 2 Land Raiders, you could get:
a DP (or another Lord), 2 Rhinos, and 3 more Oblits (You'd have to lose 10 more points somewhere in the list to get them, but you get my point).

In the embrace of great Chaos, I am no longer afraid, for with its power and favor, I shall become the embodiment of that which I once most feared.....Death

Chaos Space Marines: W50, L23, D17
Warriors of Chaos: W15, L2, D0
CSM 6th Edition: W19, L6, D3
CSM 7th Edition: W17, L2, D2
Kill Team: W2, L0, D0

CSM landraider function differerntly to SM landraiders. Basically they are bunkers and assault boats. You have to look at them like that and ignore that they have weapons for the moment. Their job is to get your assault troops into combat quickly and without harm or to sit on an objective with a scoring unit inside and not move. It doesnt matter how many weapons you can fire because you'll be moving them 12" or keeping them still anyway. It is the job of a CSM landraider to not die, and they do that quite well (particularly with demonic possession).

@OP

Your list is ok but could do with a few tweaks.

I know that +2d6 power weapon attacks looks impressive, but in practice bloodfeeders fals short. It you get a single 1 on either of your two d6 you cause yourself a wound. This equates to about 1/3rd of the time. Thats 1/3rd of the time your chaos lord does nothing but stab himself. Not good. Khorne unfortunarely has the worst HQ choices in this codex. More effective bets for combat HQs are demon princes (wings and warptime costs you 155pts and is very good for the points), or sorcerers (warptime is again very good). If you want to stay away from psychic powers and still have a khorne marked HQ then pick up kharn instead. Killing one of your own men is much better than doing nothing and kharn will do a lot more damage.

Your terminators are a bit too big for a termicide squad, but dont have enough wargear to do much else. Either drop them to 3 guys with combi-meltas or give them another powerfist.

Your berzerkers are fine.

Your PMs need a rhino. They really dont move fast enough and a rhino will protect them from nasty things lke plasma cannon, at least for a time.

Your Squad of CSM should be plague marines. They way you have them equipped, plague marines are just better, even if you have fewer bodies.

Ideally you want your LRs to have demonic possession so they will always keep moving and shooting. Dont worry about the lower BS, TL weapons help mitigate this. Remember CSM landraiders arent gun boats, their primary use it protecting your stuff and not dying.

Oblits are good

Overall its a good start, but these suggestions will make it better.

Polonius wrote:Well, seeing as I literally will die if I ever lose a game of 40k, I find your approach almost heretical. If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Lord is a ‘fun’ choice for some. My review of him is: high risk:Medium rewards.
Termies: Decently beefy termicides, but I suggest a chainfist over a powerfist.

Zerkers look ok.
I agree that Raiders are not on a ‘need’ basis. Rhinos work well enough.
Plague marines are ok, but if you are going the route of PF on the champ a rhino is good here too.
CSM look ok.
Oblits are ok.

In general it looks fine enough, lots of variety of stuff, I’m just not too impressed with double Raiders.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
