Looks great so far!

I love the fingerless gloves and the snub-nosed lasrifles. Any fluff yet?

Fantastic painting, really like where this is going. One critique-please don't stop at 500 pts.

No fluff yet. I liked the fingerless gloves idea too, however the guns are actually supposed to be shotguns. I guess they aren't very convincing

As for not stopping at 500 points, I probably will. My goal is to have 4 500 point armies at the end of this year--IG, Orks, Space Wolves and one other army

Expect an update tomorrow

Ooh, very nice beginning. The highlighting of the armor is nice and clean.

What are you going to do for bases?

That looks amazing. I love the look of the guns but if they're shotguns, you could take off the tops of the guns.

Okay, I've been on a bit of a hiatus 2011-14

Not bad at all. They photograph very well too Cheers!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

But no criticism from anyone? C'mon, I'm not that good

There won't be any more updates for a good 2-3 weeks, I'm afraid :( those were the last of my guard. I plan on ordering some more within the next week or two--probably a Sentinel or two at the least.

I'll also be getting the new Chimera in March

Ok then, in truth i think they need to be more gritty, try tamiya weathering powders. Or an ink wash on their fatigues...just a thought.

Also, there's a new chimera coming out??? This is news to me...

Yeah! I love criticism!

I forgot to specify....they're deliberately painted factory-fresh. I will be adding wear/tear/mud/blood as they see battles.

And yes, there's a new chimera coming out in March, or so I heard. Apparently it'll be released alongside a new Basilisk, Venerable Dread and some Orky stuff in March with the new battle missions release.

Sure. I'll try and upload some close-ups later today.

And close up of 2 of the vets. The black spots are the result of an experiment gone wrong and will be painted over.

I really like the painting but I don't like too much the bases. They look simply for the awesome painted model.

Paint the edge of the bases black, I think it would look better and make the bases "pop" a bit more. Otherwise they look great, and I have no other comments to make.

Thanks guys.

@ RUNE I don't too much like them myself...I may have to redo the bases, however it would be a major PITA to get them off the bases, as they are superglued on...I guess I'll get 'em off with a hobby knife.

@ Ghost in the Darkness I'll try that and see how it looks, thanks

I really like the Lieutenant. The contrast between the black shoulder pads and the tan fabric is very striking.

I look forward to your Chimera and Sentinel, based on the work you've done so far.

Troof. They're very nicely done, and very clean.

Don't listen to whoever suggested Tamiya weathering powders, by the way.

Weathering powders+small infantry models have a tendency to not work out well due to the fact that...well, they're really set up for large models like armour/aircraft/structures.

And I'd really suggest against the idea of adding in battle damage as you go. It means you'll be playing with unvarnished/dull-coated models--which have a chance to chip/flake off the paints and lose flock. You can do some fairly generic weathering/shading/battle damage by simply taking 1 part of Scorched Brown to 1 part water and half a part of dish soap(the kind you'd use for washing dishes in a sink, not a dishwashing machine). Apply liberally, let it sit for about 15 minutes then take a wetted down brush and run it over the surface of the model. Use a piece of kleenex or medical gauze to clean up the excess and remove the suds(GENTLY. Do it too hard and it takes too much off and leaves a splotchy appearance).

Ah thanks both of you.
