I bought a box of Nobs this weekend, and had heard that with a little conversion, I could make one of them a Painboy. Why.. Feel No Pain Nobs?? Yes please!!

So, with some snipping, and plastic welding, heres what I came up with:

Here we go: the "Doks Toolz", and "'Urty S'ringe" in place of normal Nobs weapons. The bosspole is gonna have the Doks glyph (triangle) painted on, and the shoulderpad is gonna be painted bone color, so its a bone instead of a wrench, or whatever its normally supposed to be. Painboy= Dok= "bones" get it??

Heres a better look at the kitbashed Doks tools, and I went for a chainsaw + mechanical industrial stapler looking sorta tool. kitbashing a slugga and one of the more "serjikal" looking big choppas. Let me know if its good, perfect, or a little clunky... Im still not too sure on it.

The big Needle looks especially nasty, dont it? I LIKE the concept that Nobs will "feel no pain" simply because they DONT want the painboy werkin on them with those scary tools!!!

And yes, the arms are pinned/poseable/changeable. All my boys are gonna be. Using the jumbo pins make this great, as the large diameter makes them act a bit like bearings (see http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/273144.page)

So, let em know what you think; is the doks tools too clunky? (Just remember: industrial power stapler.. lol)
By all means, post your own nobs box Painboy, and share how you did yours!

I like it. My only concern is that the pistol back end looks a bit too much like a pistol back end - maybe change the ammo drum a bit by adding some small detail bits to it?

I like the look! The saw/stapler is great.

For the needle, you might consider adding some source for the juice that he's gonna inject. A tank of some sort. And you might consider some additional stuff to make him look more doctory. Stethescope? Face mask? Etc. Just some thoughts. He's looking great though!

My first conversion attempt was the same thing as you. Kitbash/convert myself up a pain boy. Cause FnP on a 2 wound model just wins all over the place. Especially when there's a nice warboss attached to that squad. Choppy!

Here was my take on the same thing you're working on:

yeah.. the main thing that makes me wince about the Doks tools is that it looks so end-heavy... like the Dok must have a really strong grip to hold that thing level... yaknow?

I'm thinking of adding a shoota magazine to the top of the doks tools, to represent a magazine of industrial staples... and maybe sell the whole stapler thing a bit more with some further details that make it a bit more... obvious. somehow.

As for the 'Urty sringe (lol never know if its slang for "Dirty" or "Hurt-ey") I was thinking a bit about that, and about using burna boy tank backpack instead of the bosspole. I wonder how that tank would look on a bigger nob back. I'm kinda shy of snipping away shoulder straps, and further shy about denying myself 1 burnaboy...

.. and PS: I KNOW why painboys make their serjery's hurt so much.. its because they are called PainBOYS... when clearly they are PainNOBS
