I have a camera that produces very fuzzy photos, no i dont have a tripod, but i have use one with it once and it didnt make a difference.

What cameras do you guys, girls, gamers, use to produce high quality photos for your miniatures?

Somewhere in south-central England.

Unless your camera is complete crap, like a Lomo for instance, it will make clear pics with the right technique.

OTOH the most expensive camera in the world will produce crappy pics if your technique is not up to scratch.

A tripod will always improve static photography. If you don't have a tripod, you can use a bean bag or even just rest your forearms on something solid.

Look into lighting. Good lighting always helps.

Check the distance of focus between the subject and lens.

There are some articles about shooting models in the Articles section.

Like Killkrazy said.

Even a cheap camera CAN take good shots if you know what you are doing with it.

Buy the best you can afford - THEN READ the manual and LEARN how to use it by practising a lot.

A lot of people seem to recommend the Canon Powershot series. I can't speak for their effectiveness as I'm a DSLR user, myself, and wouldn't use a compact if paid to do so.
(But that's because I've been using a SLR type camera for the last 28 years and the techniques are second nature for me. Id have to relearn it all for a compact.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Your old Camera PENTAX K100D is NOT crap.
For what ever reason that made your picture bad will again happen with your new camera.

Check to see if you're using the Macro setting (It's a flower usually if you have no idea and used to take close up pictures) if it's still fuzzy after that check the lense. I've had the settings right and still taken fuzzy pictures before, only to find that the lense has a smudge on it. Use a soft cloth or an antistatic cloth (the kind you get for glasses) as they're the best for wiping smudges off of screens or lenses.

I have a Power Shot A540, it's not the newest thing out and only 6mp, but it can still take alright photos. It's basically my first camera and the reason I got it in the first place was because I found it for around $50 AUD
It's lasted for a fair while.

But if your camera is really stuffed up and can't take any decent pictures anymore I would suggest getting the one Luna uses, the Power Shot 1100i was it Luna? It's like the one I have but a fair bit better. Basically all you'll need to do (probably with any Power Shot) is set it to Auto, turn the Macro on, put it on a tripod (or a level serface to reduce shaking and blurring because of it) and adjust the zoom. Also what sometimes makes the photo blurry is if you have the camera too close to what you're taking the picture of, always use the zoom first before moving closer.

Also to add to Killkrazy's comment, books, DVDs and boxes also make a good substitute for a tripod if you don't have one. Its what I did for the SoB pictures I posted recently

After looking at your photos , there is 2 things thats making it blurry.

1) In some of the pics you are taking the pic too close , give it around 1 feet distance.

2) Its focusing on the wrong thing. A camera doesnt recognize what subject you want to take in the picture.

a) Give it a plain background to work with. ONLY THING you see in the picture should be model + plain background nothing else ( well unless you want to photo some scenery )

b) If your camera doesnt let you see clearly what its focusing on , do this.
Place a Ruler right next to your mini , semi click the shot button so it focuses on the ruler DONT take off your finger , make sure the numbers on the ruler are crystal clear.
Then without taking your finger off , shift the camera to the mini and finally press the shutter. This will ensure the crystal clear position the lens is focusing on will be applied to your mini as well.

I'd go with one that sits around the 8-10 megapixel range, and has a 3-5 optical zoom (the higher the zoom the better) and a macro button.
And get a lithium ion battery. My one takes 700+ flash photos, allows viewing and deletion of pics and transfer of them to computer and still has power....
