So with the Medicae skill it says that one attempt can be made per Wound. Does this mean one attempt per hit that wounds or if a character takes 6 wounds from a single hit the character with Medicae can attempt to heal him 6 times?
Would seem pretty powerful if it's one attempt per actual Wound as you heal your intelligence bonus each time.
Thanks!

I've always taken this to mean that you can try and heal a character using this skill once per wound level -- ie lightly wounded, heavily and critical.
So if the person had a TB of three then you could try to heal them once when they'd taken 1-6 points of damage and then -- long term care aside -- could nothing else for them until they'd become heavily wounded and so on.
I'm generally always kind of flexible when it comes to Pcs healing and so on though.

That makes sense. We were also thinking he could be healed once per damaging hit. Kinda like the doc is treating each bullet wound or something.

That's how I DM it. It takes a bit more work tracking each hit, but not too bad. I put it on the same sheet that I use to track initiative, I have a separate column for wounds. I abbreviate the wound location and it's value, for example:
Metalus Varnius: Initiative ( ) , Wounds ( )
Say he takes a laspistol round to the right leg, taking 3 damage. I put in the wounds blank "RL-3".
This lets me know where he was hit, how bad it was, and it isn't too difficult to add up the total this way.

I'd just do it per wound - if you fail, you don't heal that wound. Getting 6 chances to heal, using your example Ozy, isn't that powerful. It's not like being successful once means you heal all 6 wounds - you can just attempt to heal each wound once. Say you passed 3 of those tests, you'd only heal 3 of those wounds. Not such a big deal IMO.

But the medicae skill reads that it heals a number of wounds equal to x + x, which is more than one wound.

If the character is lightly wounded, he gets healed equal to the intelligence bonus of the healer. Heavy or Critical wounded gets just one wound healed. So with 6 chances, it's almost guaranteed he'll be healed up completely.
Plus, the characters can use their fate points to heal and I've found they use those first to bring themselves down to lightly wounded and then the medicae brings them back nearly to full.
I think I'll do it once per wounding hit. It makes sense to me as character gets shot twice, doc treats each bullet wound.

Ran a game on Sunday and the one healing attempt per wounding hit worked pretty well.
And in hilarious news the brand new Psyker one player rolled up due to being killed in a previous mission managed to turn himself into a Daemonhost while getting a little carried away with throwing fireballs at the enemy. Not wanting to spend the next 30 minutes in an already dragging combat to roll up a Daemonhost I let him burn a fate point to avoid his fate, knocking him comatose for the rest of the encounter. He rolled up the Daemonhost for fun on his own (and to have one prepared in case of this happening again) and it had 99 WP along with Boil Blood, Holocaust, and some very other nasty abilities. Good news is he probably could have killed the enemy after he was finished with the party...

Excellant. Thusly far my puppets..err...I mean players have avoided any really bad side affects except one time when everyone within X metres started floating off the ground. Seeing as they were in zero G at the time anyway this worked out alright.

Our first experience with Daemonhost-ery was more dramatic, with the player rolling a 99 on his Peril's check, and then rolling a 01 to resist it (he needed a 12 or under, which is pathetic). We were very lucky that day.
