So... I was flipping through my codex today... and noticed on the weapons page that none of the Eldar guns have triggers.

Do you suppose they fire them with their minds and their little hookup deal that goes from their suits to the gun? Orrr?

Discuss!

I think that they do have triggers, but they aren't easy to spot or they just use their thoughts to fire a weapon.

Some of the guns are mentally triggered, I know the Striking Scorpions have one that is. Warp Spiders too from memory. Others may be the same for some weapons and others just not using a hook trigger like we do. It could be squeezing the grip or something.

IIRC all eldar have SOME degree of psycic ability (much like orks) It's just whether or not they choose the path of the seer determining if they develope it. I believe I read somewhere that most if not all eldar weapons are mentally triggered.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

That makes sense, it makes their weaponry unusable to anyone else.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

hmmmmmmmm....... so if someone has much stronger psyhic power, he can remote contorl eldar's weaponry? or you mess up eldar's mind then their weapons won't work?

In the later case that may be a good thing.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

So kinda like District 9?

Yeah it seems like everyone agrees that Eldar do it with their minds. What do you suppose that little hookup cable for all of them is for then?

Maybe to hook up with their suit so they can check how much ammo they still have?

It might be less triggering it with psykic power and more a completely mental trigger; they may overlap a lot (psykers require a lot of mental discipline) and an eldar's mind is far more suited to that than a human's, but don't have to be the same thing.

Everyone had probably seen devices as such where they place one of those mesh like brain scanners on someone's head and they then learn how to control a video game/mouse pointer/robotic arm. It takes practise to learn to think that way but it can be done. I imagine that the weapons of the aspect warriors at least work the same way. Not so sure about the guardians since they don't receive the same training for war and it would have to be something you could do near instinctually.

Theoretically at least a human could learn to fire such weapons. They'd need teaching though. I somehow don't think an eldar is likely to provide such.

It says in the codex that the eldars phsycic impulses (or something like that) controls how the gun fires.
