Me and my friends have gotten into (or back into) 40k recently, and this is the first actual large scale battle we've done outside of 500ish point skirmishes to learn the rules. Everyone actually clocks in at about 750-800 points:

Chaos:
1x Chaos Lord
6x Khorne Berzerkers (+1 Skull Champion)
9x Chaos Marines (+1 Aspiring Champion)
1x Defiler

Necrons:
1x Lord w/Ressurection Orb
20x Warriors
2x Wraiths
3x Destroyers

Orks:
1x Big Mek w/KFF
5x Nobz (+1 Painboy)
58x Boyz
2x Deffkoptas

Marines:
1x Space Marine Captain (Power Armor)
1x Dreadnought
4x Terminators (+1 Sergeant)
13x Tactical Squad (+2 Sergeant)
1x Rhino

The report's at http://eclecticnerd.wordpress.com/2010/02/02/warhammer-40k-saving-private-waaagh/ - after reading the forum a bit, I'll do our next match up in a turn-by-turn style. We're hoping to finish up the match tomorrow. Tons of newbie mistakes, but we had fun with it at least. Modeling the ghetto terrain was probably our biggest downfall (I can't wait to get to work on an actual board). We'll be smarter with that next time.

How did the two table setup work out for you?

It was a little too long and just not wide enough. The connection between the two tables wasn't big enough to let the entire army march through, which has made it a little interesting. It was fine, but think it'd work out better for other game types.

Just an FYI a necron cannot get up unless another model of the same type is within 6" of it. Rez orb doesn't prevent this restriction either, so the wraiths bub-bye!
