A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Hi All,

Well this is my first time post on Dakka although I've been lurking in the shadows for a while now...

Here's a brief intro (maybe)...

I've been in the hobby for a long time now but left the GW world behind for a few years, now I'm back... Some great memories of my teenage years revolve around the Beckenham GW store (sadly long ago closed), including gaming nights of WFB and WFRP and the day my models got chosen as a regional finalist for Golden Demon (including complimentary ticket, plus free coach ticket to the NEC), way back in 1989 I think...

Since leaving the hobby behind I've got into Historical gaming and now field a 25mm Viking army (plus Longboat), a small Hundred Years War English force (25mm), 20mm WW2 (US and German), 20mm Vietnam (US) and 25/28mm WW2 (US Marines, Germans and British Commandos).

Recently I had a chance to sort through my boxes and boxes of old figures and refresh my interest, I used to be an avid Warhammer Fantasy collector and had a large Empire army, a small Bretonnian force and an Orc horde, led ably by my mate Ruglud with his infamous Armoured Orc's.

Now my focus is on a couple of new projects, an Imperial Guard diorama, based on a picture in a 1999 edition of White Dwarf and having been given the latest 40k game for Christmas (Thanks Santa...), a Space Marine army of my own Chapter design.

Oh and I almost forgot, alongside my full time job, I'm looking into setting up my own FLGS, a long time ambition which has started with a FLIS (Friendly Local Internet Shop), not sure what the rules are on advertising in a post, so I wont (for now...)

I'll be starting a couple of P&M blogs soon to show my 40K projects and other various dabblings which will hopefully inspire me to actually finish them...

See ya all around...

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.
