This might not be the right place to rant about this, but it drives me nuts that (nearly, to be fair) every time someone brings a different or creative idea to the P&M section then asks advice on how to execute it they are met by people talking, sometimes exclusively, about fluff. With as tightly monitored as YMDC and The Swap Shop are, is there anyway a similar standard or even just a general warning could be added to the guidelines sticky for the fluff-mongers who hate free-thinkers and all clearly have the most vile of intentions?

Then don't go in there asking for a breakdown on your fluff or color scheme ideas based on said fluff?

I'm referencing posts which don't mention or ask for fluff advice. I'm talking about ones that ask for modeling advice and receive fluff criticism in response. There are certainly enough of them.

I haven't seen any...and I lurk in P&M for most of the day.

Have to agree with Kanluwen on this one.

Please link to an example.

And I'm in there a lot too, so even if it is happening, it can't be too egregious...

APPARENTLY, his example is the "Female Chaos Space Marines" thread which has nothing other than "What do you think of the idea?".

Speaking of--can we put a word filter on "female" and "space marines" in the same sentence? The threads contribute nothing and are useless stomping grounds of silly ideas and silly folk constantly trying to justify an idea they know doesn't work.

And maybe a word filter on "Squats"?

Second. No more Female Space Marine threads in 2010!

I propose that we instead start a "Female Purple Chaos Orc for the greater good" thread.

Just because it annoys you - there will be no stopping the Female Space Marines thread! You had to point out it is a grievance and now it won't die out. There will always be die hard feminists pushing the idea. Even if I'm not one of them - its contagious like internet crack.

Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated.

Feminists have nothing to do with it.

Yeaahhh...because nothing screams "EQUAL RIGHTS AND REPRESENTATION FOR WOMEN!" like big boobs clumsily greenstuffed onto power armor/terminator armor
The annoyance is the fact that:
Flies against any/all fluff regarding the Astartes. Sisters of Battle/Silence are the "femarines". Has been, and always will be the case. STOP THE FEMALE SPACE MARINES(HURR!)

If someone models something like that well, and only wants feedback on the modelling aspect, that's a reasonable request. I don't think it comes up that often, though.

Ah, that explains it...

Of course, it would have helped if you could have been more specific.

But then, that would have invalidated one of your points...

Hmmm...

What to do...

You go away for an evening and then get all the feedback :/ That was the most recent one I'd seen. Admittedly I used to lurk in P&M quite a bit more and it felt like every time I opened a thread that remotely interested me that was the case. I posted originally after seeing that thread and assumed there were still more about. Come to find there was a grand total of one yesterday. I guess disregard.

Well, no, not entirely.

By all means, feel free to use the Mod Alert button to report posts that you feel need to be reported.

When something clearly belongs somewhere else, odds are we'll move it!

And really, we need all the help we can get...
