Personally I believe the answer is yes.
Because paying 3 dollars for a, not complex at all, slump of plastic is ridiculous to me.
You can go to your local 1$ store and get some more detailed pieces of plastic or even plates (That are not even made in china!!!) for cheaper.
If you guys know some manufacturer that believes the same let me know.

Totally overpriced. But I can see why they're overpriced. Having bought 5 IG HW Squads I found myself with enough parts left over to build a good number more squads, but no bases. Now I have 8 HW Squads build and the bases to build about 3 more. All for $6 extra. For me they were overpriced, but significantly less overpriced than the alternative.

In the grim darkness of the far future everyone is right handed.

Check out GaleForce9 .. the have a range of econo bases. Round, Oval, Dex and Square. Pick a size in mm, and they will send you a chinese takeout container containing nothing but that size. I game with a guy who got about 40-50 60mm rounds from them for $10..

Another suggestion, buy some plasticard (roughly 7$ per 11x14 sheet of 1/8 inch styrene), use one base as a template and make your own.

The sheet is big enough to make about 30 discs which might need to be doubled up if you want the same thickness.
In the end your 15 bases will cost you about 46 cents each and a bit of elbow grease.

Enjoy,

I think Litko Aerosystems makes 60mm circular bases from 3mm thick plywood.

Why, what else does such a fantastic company manufacture? Possibly some sort of manufactury skyscraper or extratmospheric hallway, perchance?

GW used to sell bases by the sack load, you could get a heap of 60mm bases for £3, now you get some tiny bag with a handful of this and that.

Simply shop elsewhere, GW aren't the only people supplying plastic bases, not by a long way.

Yes plastic card is the answer to the big bases , but if you want the thickness, use card as a filler its cheap and once you flock an base your model you will never know....

Old, flat 60mm bases (aka Titan bases) were available in a bag of 16 but the current style 60mm bases were not.

The term 60mm base is somewhat confusing because the bases are 65mm in diameter. Yet they are always referred as 60mm.

Yeah, i think they do some sort of skyscraper kits, but I remember them being rather industrial-looking....

But OT, I picked up 60mm bases on eBay a lot cheaper. Not as cheap as they should be, mind, but a lot cheaper.
