Deployment
2 objectives are placed (green flags) the northern one on the ground floor and the southern one on the first floor, the set up is Dawn of war.
I win the roll-off and choose my side of the board and place one unit of Dire avengers on the objective on the first floor, the unit of pathfinders taking positions on the almost non-existent second floor giving them a nice field of fire.
My opponent places his Flyrant opposite me with a unit of 3 warriors to his flank, a unit of 16 hormagaunts is deployed in the open in the centre of the board.
My opponent fails to seize the initiative and i commence my first turn.

Eldar Turn 1
(Farseers + fire dragons in falcon, Farseer + Dire avengers in the other)
(Farseers will be guiding the falcons every turn)
My original squad of Dire avengers advance slightly, the unit of Harlequins moves on and runs upto the ruins holding my objective with the wraithlord nearby. The two falcon moves on side by size cruising forwards and pivoting towards the gaunts up ahead while the vypers make a risky move into terrain and also pivot towards the gaunts. Both units of Dire avengers bring up the rear run forwards, one unit taking cover behind some ruins the other following up behind the falcons.

My shooting phase begins and night-fighting does not affect any of my shots, the pathfinders open up on the warriors but saves are made. The wraithlord fires a plasma missle at the guants, followed by the falcons and vypers who fire their shuriken cannons and (defensively) plasma missiles. After 12 BS3 shots and 5 badly scattering templates 12 gaunts lay dead. There is no combat, so my turn ends.

Tyranid turn 1
The remaining gaunt squads move in behind his objective and to the far flank with the second unit of warriors in amongst them, they all run forwards. The venomfex comes on pretty much in the centre of the table and takes a pot shot at my falcons but fails to see anything. The two Zoanthropes run into a ruin, taking advantage of a wall to hide them from LOS. The original squad of warriors move forwards while remaining in cover and fire at my Falcon, failing to penetrate it.
Now for the interesting stuff, the diminished unit of gaunts runs forwards through the ruins and gets a perfect terrain roll for assault and pile out of a window to charge my Dire avengers who promptly kill 3 gaunts, the last remaining gaunt killing one Avenger in return and holding. The Flyrant moves forwards into my ruin (taking a wound) and charges the unit of Avengers in there, wiping them all out.

Eldar turn 2
(Flyrant doomed, warriors doomed)
One unit of warp spiders arrives and scatters behind the termagaunt wall, hoping to cause a distraction they gun down 7 gaunts. The vypers move 12" forwards and fire their plasma missiles at the second hormagaunt squad, killing 4 of them. One falcon also joins in killing another 4. The pathfinders manage to kill off one warrior with some precision shots. The second falcon, wraithlord, and a unit of avengers all move up and turn to fire on the Flyrant, knocking it down to 1 wound, the harlequins run into the ruins and then pounce upon the flyrant, rending it to death. The avengers on my right kill the last gaunt and move spread out.

Tyranid turn 2
Sensing the death of the tyrant the tyranid reserves refuse to show up. The two termagaunt units and their warrior minders move forwards and then about face, firing upon my warp spider distraction wiping them off the face of the planet. The last 8 hormagaunts take up position next to their objective while the warriors in front of them kill one harlequin with their venom cannon. The venomfex moves forwards and fires as my falcon, missing it completely. The two zoanthropes manage to shake one vyper.

Eldar turn 3
(Hormagaunts doomed, unit of 2 warriors doomed)
My second unit of warp spiders show up and land near the venomfex, taking 2 wounds off it. The vypers move up and kill 2 gaunts near the objective while a falcon kills another 2. The second falcon fires on the far gaunts killing 2 from one squad (plasma scatter) and 3 from the other. The wraithlord insta-gibs a warrior with his krak missile and the pathfinders pick off 2 more gaunts on my left. The avengers and harlequins move forwards. The avengers aboard the falcon get out (before the falcon moved away) and back up a little in case they are needed to secure my own objective.

Tyranid turn 3
The reserves all turn up.
The fex scatters badly and lands in the ruins on my empty flank, the lictors show up and fire on the vypers failing to do any damage. The Trygon prime erupts from the ground amidst the ruins containing my objective and guns down 4 harlequins.
The smaller squad of termagaunts run forwards towards my ruins, the larger squad takes cover in their own ruins and kills one harlequin with their shooting. The 3 warriors also take cover in these ruins while the one remaining warrior from the first squad fails to hit my falcon with its venom cannon. The zoanthropes fail to do any damage to vypers yet again. The venomfex moves towards my warp spiders, gunning one down and charging in, the spiders manage to wound it once and it fails its save (only one wound left!) then he smashes two spiders into the ground.

Eldar turn 4
(Trygon prime doomed)
The empty falcon turbo-boosts towards the tyranid board edge hoping to get around behind their objective if i need to next turn. The two vypers open fire on the zoanthropes killing one. The wraithlord open fire on the small guant unit on my flank with a plasma missile, killing 3. The front unit of avengers manage to pick of 3 termagaunts while the second unit manages to bring down the last warrior from the original brood. The fire dragons disembark and with some fire support from the rearmost squad of avengers manage to bring the lictors down (2 from meltas 1 from avenger catapult fire)
The pathfinders open fire on the trygon, with their elevated position he doesnt get a cover save and they manage to take off 3 wounds (AP1 hits and rending wounds) The falcon opens fire and the pulse laser hits twice, wounds twice, with 2 failed cover saves. The EML from the falcon fails to hit. Feeling pretty confident the harlequins gear up for a charge... firing off 4 shuriken pistol shots just before they reach do... and kill the trygon. The last two spiders manage to wound the venomfex once (again) and he fails his save (again)

Tyranid turn 4
The unit of 4 gaunts on my flank open fire on my harlequins and bring one down. The other termagaunt unit moves up to hold the objective while the four hormagaunts charge out into my avengers, killing one and loosing 2. The warriors and remaining zoanthrope fire at my falcon but fail to do anything. The carnifex, being out of charge range, runs behind a wall hoping for a cover save.

Eldar turn 5
(warriors doomed, objective gaunts doomed)
The 3 harlequins make short work of the flanking gaunts. The firedragons and 9 avengers manage to bring down the fex. The two vypers and 2 spiders pop the last zoanthrope while the two falcons adjust to get LOS on the warriors, and bring all 3 down. The wraithlord storms forwards flaming the gaunts on the nid objective before charging in to kill the last 3. The pathfinders move down a floor to claim my own objective. The avenger manage to kill the last 2 gaunts in combat and move up to the nid objective with their consolidation.

FIN
Proper turn sequences were played, its just easier for me to write "unit A moves here and charges that, unit B moves into this area and shoots that, etc"

Excuse me for not being an expert in eldars, but besides the harlequins, why are your squads all 5-man? Why not combine the DA's for more bladestorming fun?

Nice game. The pictures were very nice, but would have been more useful were they next to the words they represented, as a reference.

Didn't take any Exarchs so didn't have any bladestorms, plus i was expecting to get charged early on and would rather have 5 men locked in combat and not shooting rather than 10 (Plus there was a 2/3 chance i'd be playing an objective game and 2 troops are better than one)
