Deep within the Eye of Terror, the forces of Chaos stir...
The bloated and festering soldiers of Nurgle, the infamous Plague Marines, led by their intrepid Daemon Prince have angered the almighty War-god Khorne himself. Khorne sends his legions to destroy the offenders once and for all. In the belly of a ruined city, the two armies face off...

Flesh hounds (med squad)
Mission: Annihilation
Deployment: Spearhead
Roll off: CSM wins, chooses to go second.
Deployment: Daemons deploy first; and cannot deploy anything being a Daemon force. CSM deploy in the south-west corner (from the CSM perspective), placing both squads of Oblits in a crater, flanked by the loaded rhinos to the north and south (N:plasma, S:melta). The Daemon Prince deploys next to a building a few inches northeast of the crater, on the side facing the rest of the force.
Turn 1 (Daemons): Khornate daemons divide into two forces. He attempts to deploy his 'thirster, bloodletters, and the small squad of flesh hounds, and the gods agree to his choice. The Bloodthirster, in a perfect Khornate fashion, attempts to deep strike in the center of the CSM formation. He scatters over the obliterators and rolls a lucky 6 to be delayed, and is returned to reserve. The bloodletters scatter into the building next to the DP, and roll an unlucky misplaced result, leaving them on the other corner of the board, far from the action. The small group of flesh hounds hits dead on and does nothing after arriving.
Turn 1 (CSM): Having avoided a huge mob of elite CC units landing in their midst, the CSM reposition, and tear apart the unprotected flesh hounds. The first squad of Oblits fires its twin linked Plasma Guns, scoring 4 kills on the hounds, with the remaining Oblits eliminating the last two. Also, at the beginning of the turn, the DP fails his Warptime psychic test on double 6's and fails his Invul save, reducing him to 3 wounds. End of Turn 1.
Turn 2 (Daemons): Bloodthirster fails reserve roll, Hounds fail reserve roll. Crushers arrive, this time in a group with their bloodletter allies on the other side of the board. The Bloodletters move up.
Turn 2 (CSM): Repositioned units to create some eventual fire lanes. End of Turn 2.
Turn 3 (Daemons): Bloodthirster arrives, but Hounds are still out. Thirster lands near the now-advancing Daemon Horde, only inches from the center of the map. Daemons continue to do nothing, opting to get as close as possible. (I don't think they ran in the shooting phase, now that I think about it).
Turn 3 (CSM): Repositioned again, some units actually doubled back. Moved up with the Rhino containing the melta PMs.
Turn 4 (Daemons): Hounds fail their 2+ reserve roll, leaving the horde to advance again. They are now close enough to intimidate the CSM fire line. The Bloodthirster attempts to fire his ranged weapon (the S7 AP2 Assault 1), but is just short of the melta rhino's hull (just grazing some spiky decorations, which we determined to be 'not the hull').
Turn 4 (CSM): Moved up with obliterators and the Melta Rhino. Oblits let loose with lascannons and the Plague Marines fire both meltaguns out of the Rhino's top hatch, reducing the oncoming Bloodthirster to 1 wound. The Daemon Prince sits back and waits for an opportunity to strike, while the other rhino waits to see if more help is needed.
Turn 5 (Daemons): Hounds arrive automatically near the Bloodthirster. The BT moves forward using flight and shoots at the nearest obliterators, doing nothing. The flesh hounds assault the Melta Rhino and it explodes, killing 3 of the hounds, but leaving the tough plague marines untouched. The BT attempts to assault the Oblits but falls just short.
Turn 5 (CSM): Plague Marines back up to the building behind them (the one the DP was chilling by at the beginning of the game). The Daemon Prince moves 12" up, attempts Warptime again, and AGAIN fails on a double 6 roll, suffering another wound, bringing him to 2. The Plague Squad then fires at the Bloodthirster, finishing it off in a spectacular display of blood and fire. The obliterators fire at the flesh hounds (I think) and cause a few wounds. The Daemon Prince assaults the hounds, reducing their numbers and suffers nothing.
Game continues on a roll of 5.
Turn 6 (Daemons): Bloodcrushers move up as much as possible to be in assault range Turn 7 if the game doesn't end. The Daemon Prince forgets to use warptime, and reduces the flesh hounds down to a single model, suffering nothing.
aand... something happened here where we got off track with turn numbers (I think we may have reversed the turn order by rolling for Turn 7 at this point, or something), so I'll skip to the end bit:
Final CSM Turn: Bloodcrushers have assaulted the Daemon Prince and need to put two wounds on him to finish him. However, he goes along with them at I5 and kills the last flesh hound, leaving the CSMs with 3 kill points to the Daemon's 1. The Bloodcrushers, in a spectacular set of rolls, inflict only 1 wound, resulting in tied combat. However, the Daemons player brought the wargear that means he wins (we assumed by 1 wound for the purposes of No Retreat! since the codex wasn't on hand and we're all new to daemons), but the DP passes his armour save, on a skin-o-the-teeth 3.
Result: Chaos Space Marine Victory, 3 KP to 1 KP. Though we all know Chaos is the real winner here.
I apologize for the bit at the end, it's late here and I don't exactly remember. If I do, I'll append it to the report. Suffice it to say I still won even if the DP should have died. Also, the Daemons player was playing his first game as Daemons, and I was running an almost (maybe) cheesy Nurgle list, so lots of mistakes were made, but that's why we practice. Overall it was a really fun game and we got a lot of good laughs narrating the story as it played out.
