Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks!

My sister-in-law lives an hour away from Atlanta, and just had a new baby....she's been pestering my wife and I to come visit, and if we do, I want to coordinate it with an RTT or a 40k tournament in Atlanta.

Anyone know of any decent events in March or April in the Atlanta area?

First of all, congrats to your sis-in-law for the baby. Hope all went well and the baby is healthy. What you probably did not know is that DragonCon will be taking place there in Atlanta, GA on the 3rd through the 6th of September 2010. I will be there with my family dressed up as an Inquisitor and retinue. I hope to play some 40k games while I am there.

There are several places to game depending on what side of Atlanta you are on. If you are on the North side, there is a place called Giga Bites in Marietta. The Pog-Mo-Thon club is based out of it. On the West side is a place called The Pit where a group called Warfans calls home. South of Atlanta around the airport if memory serves is a place but the name escapes me. Shoot me a PM if you want any more info.

Is DragonCon a GT?

Hoping to coincide some stuff together.

Let me know which one you plan to attend Justin. I would like to drive or fly up and play as well. I have never had the chance to meet you face to face. Hopefully we can face off on the table.

Steve - I'll be at Bolter Beach in June anyway.

I'm a much different gamer than I was a year+ ago. Alas for first impressions.

I don't know of any Grand Tournaments, but we have a large # of ordinary tourneys coming up. They usually get around 20 folks.

Check these sites to find out about ATL tourneys:

Warfan Board:

NATO board

We try and crosspost, so any of these ought to have all upcoming tourneys, but it's usually worth it to check them all anyway. Hope to see you sometime!

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Why not at the final table? =p

And don't tell me about running a tournament. That's what peons are for!

I think I might see some stones cast my way if I were to end up on the top table at a big event. As long as I am not helping to run it then it's not a big deal to me so maybe we can both make it happen in Atlanta... That would be very cool.

Atlanta has a pretty decent crowd competitive wise. Be good to see you both attend an event down here.

Oh man....

A circuit tournament on the 13th that is 8 hours away. An RTT on the 20th that is 30 minutes away. My wife says I'm only allowed to do one or the other.

*grimaces* I don't know what to do.

I can't speak for the local competition where your RTT is being held. But I can assure you, most of the best players in the area will be at the Circuit tournament down here in Atlanta. The good thing is, we are having one every other month, so you will have more chances if you miss this one.

I will make it up for an event after Adepticon is over.

I tried to register for Phoenix Games Board but have not received registration from the admin yet. Can someone up in ATL lend me a helping hand?

I sent them a PM to approve you on there, assuming you registered as GBF there.

If not, let me know what username you used and I will correct my PM to the mods.
