This is some fluff I made for my Tzeentch army General Lucas Holst.

Lucas Holst

Lucas Holst is one of the most infamous Sorcerers of Tzeentch to grace the Empire, not because of his ruthlessness, but because of his total randomness. Not one for cold blooded killing, Lucas travels the world in search of new information and tomes to add to his forever growing collection. A man possessed of an insatiable hunger for knowledge, he searches for tomes, books, and other sources of information. Because of this, enemies can never premeditate where he will be or what he will do. A great example being his visit to Norgenhof in Ostermark, where unbeknownst to the populace, he casually strode into the town. He made his way through the village, receiving many glances and whispers, and stopped out the front of one of the many houses. Blowing the door down with a pulse of power, Lucas made his way into the house, much to the horror residents. He casually strode to a small bookcase and removed a particular book, then thanking the residents, he left. Two days later he was seen sacking another town to get to their churches library.

Lucas himself isn’t a man from the Northern Wastes, but from a small village in the middle of the Empire. Lucas showed magic capabilities from an early age, coupled with a boundless curiosity. This brought the attention of a travelling Shadow Magi, who offered to train Lucas as his apprentice. During his apprenticeship Lucas’ magical abilities flourished, and his curiosity made it easy to teach new and old practices. His love of knowledge led Lucas to devour his teachers’ library of knowledge, and once he had finished that, Lucas began to search elsewhere. His search brought him into contact with books that investigated the act of sorcery, the use of all eight winds of magic. He continued his research into these books, and began to practice with his new found knowledge. Eventually his teacher walked in on one of these sessions. His teacher, shocked that his pupil would commit such acts of heresy to the Empire, branded Lucas a heretic. Lucas himself confessed innocence, that he only practiced Sorcery to learn how to defend and defeat it, but his Mentor ignored him and proceeded to denounce him, and attacked. Lucas became angered at his former teacher, and began to counter the spells thrown at him with spells of his own. Even with his vast amount of knowledge, Lucas did not have the experience of his former master, and began to fall on the defensive. In desperation he called upon the power described in the latest tome he had read, and much to his surprise, something answered. With this new power behind him, he turned on the offensive, eventually turning his master insane with a blast of pure magic.

In the aftermath of the battle, amongst the ruins of his master’s house, Lucas bent knee to the entity that named itself Tzeentch. In exchange for Lucas’ loyalty and worship, he would allow Lucas access to vast magical power, and the freedom to travel the world in the search for more knowledge. From then on Lucas traversed the Empire and beyond, increasing his vast collection of knowledge and power. Now a Sorcerer of vast magical ability, he has joined Archaons horde, not for glory, but the chance to delve the libraries of Talabheim and the wizard towers for tomes and items to add to his vast collection.

Curses! Just when you've finally managed to bring the whole world under your evil influence some pathetic little Inquisitor goes whining off to the Adeptus Terra about rogue psykers and daemonic possession. I mean, do I look possessed? Well, do I? DO I???

Ha! That is actually a rather well thought out back story. Good stuff.

I really liked the part where he just walked into someones home and picked up a small book and walked off again.

It would have been great if it was just a pop-up book of nursery rhymes or something... I can just see it now... gen LH: "The cow goes 'Moooo' - how interesting..."
