I have a black monolith sitting here and I want to paint it but, only one problem, I don't have a color scheme in mind. My necrons are now becoming a NNM group and that doesn;t work well on flat surfaces. So, I need a good scheme to complement my army and looks good. Any Ideas?

Ah yes! I have seen your necrons on the interblags and loved them. BUT, I am just looking for good color combination's. It is black as a base-coat.

I have gone with a bone-ish color for the main everything, with red on the corners. It looks great!

I've seen some peple paint up things with an iridecent scheme for needs (used finger nail polish I think) and it looked good, might looke great on a monny.

I did my necrons with a base of Tin Bitz and a Dwarf Bronze drybrush. Looks liek aged copper.

This works well for the 'lith as well. What i did with the 'lith was to drybrush snot green over the "panel seams", then put a thin line of scorpion green in the recesses. Makes it look kind of like it's glowing from within.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Thought about a thin wash of pearlescent (sp) nail polish or something?

Would make the surface look all shimmery and cool.

Might look pretty cool - though I would definately advise doing some test pieces first

I can't remember where I found it, but there is an amazing pic of a damaged lith attempting to phase out. It has battle damage and everything. I suggest you check it out.

You've already seen my scheme:

It's stone with green trim. I'm going Dark Angel Green for the corner pieces. Trying to figure out what I want to do with the portal and crystal.

Yes, it looks very 'painted on' instead of natural but it looks way better irl. Also, I didn't like it at first but now I really like it as it matches my tomb king army. It is still a test so now touch up was down really and only the front is painted.

I too went with the desert scheme... Not sure how it would fit in with NMM necrons though. I do dig the look of copper as the base metal though.
