A big question, and I'm sure it's been asked a billion times.
Obviously the most popular is the blue/yellow Kneadatite "green stuff." It also seems to be the most expensive and comes in the smallest quantities.
Compare the different brands(Kneadatite, Apoxie Sculpt, Super Sculpey, Milliput, or any others you might have come across), as well as the different types that might be made by each brand
Of course different brands will work differently in different situations.
What are your views on green stuff and its alternatives. What is best for which circumstances.
Of course the small things people would like to know: What drys the slowest, and what the fastest? Whats sticky and whats not? Whats softer to begin and whats harder? Whats the overall best and overall worst?
But more importantly which ones are the best for each individual use? What works the best for gaps, simple mods, simple custom pieces, easy fixes, terrain, and complete custom modeling.

THANX

Super sculpey needs to be baked to harden fully.
Milliput isn't really suitable for sharp edges - it's good for bulk though. Brown stuff is best for sharp edges (it sets much harder than green).

For simple gaps I use squadron green putty (available from good modelling shops). Works well, dries hard enough to sand/file and/or drill in a few hours. Comes in a tube, about the squooshiness of toothpaste. Can be thinned with liquid poly cement if you want it thinner. Cheaper (much) than GS, but has different uses, really.

Greenstuff I use for filler pads between parts that don't mate properly, or for fabric work (sculpting clothes, cloaks, etc).

Terrain: I generally use foam sheet and filler.
Custom modelling would probably be a combo of milliput for the rough bodywork, green stuff for fabric or soft textures and brownstuff for weapons, blades, etc.
All of the epoxy putties are 'sticky' - and you get much better results with a wet tool than a dry one (or fingers). Water, vaseline, water-based lube whatever works.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I have only used GreenStuff on this beast:

I have used Milliput quite a bit, mostly for filling and some sculpting especially when modifying modern vehicles and metal figures. Another filler that is useful is JB-Weld for metal minis. Using any of these products is a learning curve and practise helps. I find the Squadron products to be a bit on the soft side. For small gaps and mods I dump on the CA and kicker until I get enough on and then get out the files and sandpaper.
