This is something I am unclear on. Does Tau hardwired equipment need to be on the model? The reason I ask is that in the description it says hardwired items are "cybernetic upgrades or warrior jewlery", and that I can take many hardwired items which there aren't enough equipment mounting points on the models for.
This has been bothering me for a few days and a answer would be a great help.

Yes, but since most hard wired equipment is on suits that have helmets, it's not an issue. For Shas'Ui in FW squads, just say it's Hardwired into their Chest or something.

Yeah I am mainly talking about crisis suits. So claiming the items are hardwired into the armour is ok?
If so great I worried that I would have to buy another huge bag of magnets.

All the standard suits with a particular weapon combination in a squad have the same hardwired gear. Commanders are different but they are painted differently. I find it easy to keep track but I am not sure how others would feel if they don't know tau.

It's never been an issue in the games I play. Especially since my team leaders look a bit different than the regular suits and they're the ones that are eligible for the hardwired stuff anyway, them and the HQ.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

I've never had anyone say to me "Where's the multi-tracker modeled onto that suit? HUH? WHERE IS IT?!!?!"
I don't expect it to ever happen either. Relax.

Thanks
Dashofpepper- the only reason I am concered is that I am assembling a lot of suits now and I would rather not have to go back in a few weeks after I have painted them and have to add bits as that would just be a bit of a pain.

Tau wargear and WYSIWIG is difficult as GW didn't make a 1/3 of the wargear that they have rules for. the hardwired gear is on the pilot so that's easy for suits; you don't have to model anything since the pilot is inside the suit. for actual crisis upgrades, i'd recommend putting some kind of dongle or widget on the suit to represent the stuff GW has deemed not important enough to include with the kits.
