Total Roster Cost: 2500
I can almost fill out my entire FoC at 2500pts. This is 10 Devilfish/Hammerhead variants with Troops/FA/Heavies and the HQ/Elites for DS and popping armor.
Hopefully everything else dies due to fusion holes. . .
I would also assume this years Ard Boys will have scenarios from the new book.

If I'm reading your list correctly, you have 5 12" fusion guns and 3 railguns, with every other gun in the army at str 5 ap 5
That's not really over whelming fire power, At the very least I'd drop the stealth suits and take some more crisis suits.
Edit: And I'm not sure how vehicle gun drones are addressed in tournaments, but that list potentially gives up something like 33 kill points
Edit 2: You're essentially wasting 25 points and the Shas'O's BS 5 over a Shas'El by giving him a twin linked weapon and nothing else
Edit 3: all the hammer heads have Ion Cannons I see, so you have no long range heavy armor busting.
What is your plan for dealing with termies, Nobz (particularly bikers) and Plague Marines?

Lots of shots. Fusions on stealth teams and HQ for the higher armor. 12 marker lights for helping with the rest.
May drop 1 hammer for 3 broadsides, but going to test this out for now.

Hmm, why bodyguards with HW.Multitracker, and twin linked burst cannon ? It doesn't make any sense to me. And landing gear is a total waste, because DF can't turboboost on fifth edition and you don't get destroyed with that result on vehicle damage table.

Landing Gear is standard option, iirc. The MT and Cannon combo is for allowing the Shas to blow up transports with the fusion, and then the guard to hit what's left with every shot.
That's the theory anyway.
Same for my stealth crews.

That doesn't work. All units in a squad fire at the same time, you can not use the fusion blaster to blow up a transport and then the burst cannons to shoot the troops, both would be fired at the vehicle.
And yes, landing gear is standard. Multi-tracker allows a suit to fire two weapon systems in a turn, your suits only have one weapon system.

Phew - I would LOVE to play this list. I play mechanized orks, and Tau are normally scary to me.
You have no piranhas, no broadsides, no anti-tank. Three hammerheads constituting three shots per turn, half of which will miss, half of which will not do anything when they do hit, and half of which I'm going to take a KFF save against.
Yep...you've got 5 markerlights. I've got two units of Lootas - one are going to hit your pathfinders on turn1, and the others are going to try at least stunning one of your hammerheads on turn1.
That's just mechanized orks - there's no land raiders in there. And my ranged anti-tank sucks.
When you run into missile launchers, lascannons, any ranged list, any ranged mechanized list, IG anything at all....you're going to suffer and die horribly. ><

Here's the list I've been running lately:
1998/2000
--HQ--
1 Shas'el 97
-Plasma Rifle
-Missile Pod
-Multi-tracker
-HW Drone Controller
--Gun Drone
--Gun Drone
--Elite--
3 Crisis Suit 186
-Plasma Rifle x3
-Missile Pod x3
-Multi-tracker x3
3 Crisis Suit 196
-Plasma Rifle x3
-Missile Pod x3
-Multi-tracker x3
-Team Leader
-HW Drone Controller
--Gun Drone
3 Crisis Suit 186
-Plasma Rifle x3
-Missile Pod x3
-Multi-tracker x3
--Troops--
6 Firewarriors 60
6 Firewarriors 60
10 Kroot 112
7 Kroot Hounds
10 Kroot 112
7 Kroot Hounds
--Heavy Support--
1 Hammerhead 175
-Railgun
-Smart Missile System
-Disruption Pod
-Multi-tracker
1 Hammerhead 175
-Railgun
-Smart Missile System
-Disruption Pod
-Multi-tracker
1 Broadside 105
-Team Leader
-A.S.S.
-HW Drone Controller
--Gun Drone
--Gun Drone
--Fast Attack--
2 Pirahna 135
-Fusion Blaster x2
-Disruption Pod
6 Pathfinders 72
1 Devilfish 120
-Smart Missile System
-Multi-tracker
-Disruption Pod
-Targeting Array
6 Pathfinders 72
1 Devilfish 120
-Smart Missile System
-Multi-tracker
-Disruption Pod
-Targeting Array
If I were to upgrade it to 2500 points I'd probably just flesh everything out. I'd give gun drones to all the crisis suit squads, upgrade the broadside list to a full squad with shield drones, upgrade the pathfinders to full squads and maybe add another piranha.
Unfortunately tau don't really have a whole lot in the way of flexibility. The above-mentioned units are pretty much the only ones you'll be using. Stealthsuits cost too much and aren't very good. Like I said before, firewarriors are awful. Kroot aren't much better but at least they're cheap.
I'd recommend something based on my list but do as you please.

wow a lot of point waste here. You want the cheapest as possible HQ and you want to drop those boddy guards and put points on more suits. Also, you have to have more anti tank/anti horde. IE another hammerhead and at this point lvl I would go with a 3 man broadside with 2 shield drones and ASS on all of them. Most people will tell you if you got the kroot run them instead of firewarriors, because they can actually do something in close combat and shoot 24 and get a 2+ cover going to ground on a forest or jungle terrain piece. Other wise keep up the 6 fire warriors with devil fish keep them in when they can be shot. I would also wedge in 3 piranhas too just for the assault denial of them.

There may be a few wasted point, no doubt. I'm trying to make sure that what I hit blows up. And I was assuming and have played that units with a Target Lock does allow you to shoot a transport with one, then shoot the squishy's with the rest of the group. Maybe this is wrong and I'll make modifications.
I'm basically trying to outnumber/shoot my opponent which may play into my hands pending the scenario.
But before someone challenges me to $100 Vassal shoot out, I'll do my own playtesting.

The problem is that 5th edition is mechanized, and you've got very little answer to it.
