I decided to ad a bit of flair to my mortar teams.. I figured what better way than with mortar pits! I made 12 of these, and only these two are painted so far.. Let me know what you think!

Looking at these with macro focus, uh.. I realize my paint jobs are sloppy lol But dont be gentle, lemme have it. And I will go back and touch these up a lot haha

Ya I tried to go with a base coat of codex grey and then dry brush highlight of fortress, but they dont look as good as I hoped. Maybe Ill lighten it up a bit and also, clean everything up haha

First team looks better. The second pair look a little squished behind the wall.

Great idea though

Good job. I did a similar thing for my mortar teams

Everything is a bit shiny. I would recommend getting a wash on there to dull down the metals a bit. The GW black or devlan mud washes are awesome in their useage. Lets you make decent shadows to drybrush up from.

Models and poses are ace, painting needs a bit of work but solid start.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I like the positioning of your minis, though Flashman is correct, the second group do seem a bit "sqaushed".
As for the greys on your crews, might I suggest you try these steps.

Basecoat with Charadon Granite, followed by codex grey, drybrush with fortress grey, wash with Badabb Black (waterd down)and drybrush once more with fortress grey followed by a super light brybrush of bleached bone.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Good start mate, well done. Remember to remove the flash lines also. Slap a wash on and they are great

Very cool. But why do they have red crosses on their shoulder pads?

Bleached Bone is the best final color to drybrush on grey. It simply is amazing and blends perfectly.

Nice idea, though you could definitely use some highlights.

It's a good idea, and nicely done, although the second one does look a little oversized, with the minis tacked on the back.

As mentioned, the models would definitely benefit from having the mould lines removed...

The metallic armour on the Guardsmen is interesting. Not something you see a lot of. I like it.

To explain the metalic armour and the red crosses they were originally slated to be attached to a grey knight army with a knights crusader theme. But I appreciate the advice, the second round will look 10x better.
