I have embarked on painting my space wolves and I am having a bitch of a time with the yellow shoulder pads even after multiple coats it still looks splotchy and the brush strokes are clearly visible. Anyone have an ideas what i am doing wrong or have some tips for painting light colors over black primer?

Foundation yellow is the best base for the brighter yellows light tan also works.

The way to hide the brush strokes is thin paint with lots of coats.

I agreem try using the GW foundation paints as a base to work up from. The new GW foundations and washes are a wonders in a small expensive bottle.
