On Jan. 1st we conquered a new area of the mall my store is in. We're currently outfitting it as a permanent gaming bunker. It's a work in progress. The guys from BigGunZ-NE gaming club are helping out with the scenery making chores and running a lot of the tournaments, and GW was very kind and donated some of the GT tabletops to us, and some big pieces of artwork. I've save quite a few cool items over the years that will be filling up the walls. Posters from old events, artwork from the GW store we bought 15 years ago, and of course, a great big space marine. I'll post up pictures from the next tournament, but thought people might like to take a look at a few snapshots I took today while setting up some tables. Apologies for the clutter, it's a work in progress, with 2 hectic weeks to go until the first GT.

Absolutely stunning, but might I suggest some differently themed tables (I.E. Snow, Desert, etc.)
Best of luck to ya!

Yup, Going to have 3-4 with snow theme, and 3-4 with desert. One black with necron crystals, a couple chaos themed, several urban city fight. All the scenery is modular. For tournaments we'll be setting it up ahead of time, and going for balanced tables. Rest of the time, We've got 350 linear feet of shelving to hold it all, and players can set up boards how they choose. Also working on 100 hills, 100 forests, and 50 buildings, to have the generic sort of terrain everyone seems to like for WFB. And then I have to get to work expanding the 15mm terrain we have for Flames of War, for the 2 day tournament we have coming up in may.
Stuff you see in the pictures is just what is set up for now, from last weekends playing, and me trying to sort it out for the tournament.
I will admit to seeing Avatar, and then making all those hight rocky, jungle covered cliffs.) Did 30 pieces in two weeks, going to be used for tournaments, and an upcoming apocalypse game.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Looks great! Our FLGS in Milwaukee had to move, they had a great basement bunker that was open 24 hours. Now, I haven't seen the new place, but not even close. I have friends in West Chester, may have to visit someday and slide on down to Philly and check it out. With armies in tow, of course.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Yep. The mall had an empty store. Lots of malls do at the is point, with the economy. I picked the one least likely to rent soon, and made them an offer. I pay a fraction of the rent I do on my regular store, as long as I agree to use it to bring people into the mall for lots of gaming events, and I'm not actually selling out of it. Local clubs are helping out with running events and making terrain, and GW is giving us some support for the tournaments that the clubs run. All and all a good deal for gamers in the area, and lets me run a lot more events, and lots bigger events.
We have online registration set up over at the new website for the BigGunz club, at www.BigGunZ-NE.com, and I have a forum set up at Showcasecomicsandgames.com.
