Note: I'm pretty sure we screwed up ATSKNF for the terminators there - the SM player was new.

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Good battle report and I'm liking the 'bone-crons'...

Although I noticed a mistake you made in the end. Weapon Destroyed on a Monolith cannot take out the particle whip because the whip doesn't count technically as a gun, and it can still be used if the 'lith is shaken or stunned. All Weapon Destroyed does is take -1 from the gauss flux arc's d6 shots per unit in range.

Thanks.

I don't see where I damaged the Monolith, tho. It was pristine throughout. The monolith did blow a big shoota off my wagon, tho. And it killed the "Morkolith," which is just the Ork-y name I gave to my black and green battlewagon (the story is that it was made out of monolith parts by a Big Mek who admired a Necron monolith that his boyz had taken down).

And I'll remember that, about ATSKNF.

Don't tell him that, as you'd be lying.

ATSKNF - Regarding regrouping:
Automatically passes regroup tests.
Can regroup even if the squad has been reduced to less than 50% strength.
All other criteria apply

Does that mean that I can still chase marines off the board if I stay within 6" of them with 1 or more units?

No you didn't actually damage the monolith, but at the end you said something like you should've tried to 'Weapon Destroyed' the monolith to "take off its main gun".

Monolith is only str 9 not str 10. It can't fire both the whip and the flux arc either.

Monolith blast is S9 AP3, except for the center of the blast marker which is S10 AP1. In this case, the shot landed with the center of the marker on the "Morkolith", damage to the other battle wagon was factored using S9 AP3. Use of the arc and the whip is not clear in the codex, but you are correct, per the Necron FAQ they are not both allowed to be fired in the same turn.

The center is still str9 it's just AP1.

Some backwater sump

You criticize your plans, but I'd say wiping an opponent(s) off the table in two turns is pretty successful.

I thought blasts that didn't have their hole over the hull of a vehicle hit the armor at half strength? Referencing the same blast that wrecked Ghaz's ride destroying a weapon on the adjacent wagon.

Maybe in older editions but not in 5th. At least, that's now how I've ever played it with people at the FLGS and my buddy (he's much more fluent on the rules than I, also). I've only ever played 5th edition BRB but 4th ed codex for crons (obviously).

Check page 60 in your BRB. "It makes a big difference if the hole in the centre of the marker is over the vehicle or not." It then goes on to explain half strength vs hole strength and the side of where you determine the blast from.

Hm, I'll have to double check that then. I guess I've been lucky enough to where my shot either deviates completely off or the hole still remains over the model.
