Never played Hoards, just curious if the Trollbloods are any good.
Or is it unknown untill the new book comes out?
And what combos of units are their strong points?
Thanks< Balls

I like them. They are a good faction with some dependence on synergy. I'm lacking a unit and a caster that I really need to play the way I play. as for combos, battlecollege will be your best bet, and the privateerpress forums has a trollblood army list section.

eDoomie + Dire Trolls = fun!

They are pretty slow overall but there are a lot of ways to boost speed. eDoomie feat, axer animus, Grim's bait the line, fell caller pathfinder... the Krielstone boosts arm and the UA boosts str, and the DT Mauler animus boosts str. Dire trolls (except Mulg) all have 2 open claws (mulg has 1) which allows you to toss jacks around for fun. Whelps and regeneration allow beasts to heal a ridiculous amount of damage.

Trollbloods are plenty good.
They are based around buffing each other up, and stopping the opponent from being too tricky.
Pros:
Good armour, Tough on all infantry, medium bases on most troops (so they can't be trampled), excellent buffs allow you to deal with many situations, good healing ability, some tough casters. Dire trolls have 5 fury, which makes them really scary!
Cons:
Slowish (Can be mitigated), low def, not a lot of "trickyness", not a lot of fury management, no stealth units, expensive points wise.

I've not had a lot of time to playtest the new rules for combos, sadly, so I can't give you much help there. Units I think are worth avoiding however are Scattergunners, who just don't do enough for their points, and the slag troll, if you're not fighting warmachine. Everything else works pretty good.
