Hello

A few months ago.
Madness Consumed myself as it has many a heart of many a wargamer.
So naturally Ebay is the site of choice for those seeking the last refuge before the creeping tendrils of insanity take hold.

So under the effects of Insanity/ Spare Cash and Pounding Techno. I came into possession of some Praetorians. Life took another direction shortly after so they were placed under the desk of projects that rarely see the light of day.

Until Yesterday...

Part 1:

So it Begins...

The Bases are Removed by force. (Colossal amounts of Greenstuff where used on the bases to secure them)

A few seconds after the Nail polish Remover is poured in (From Clear liquid to that in seconds...)

And the Stripped Models ready to get re-painted. (Washed in camomile scented soap and water.....Smelt Nice for hours later)

Im starting to make and magnitise the Valk/Vendettas tonite so thats the plan for part 2.

For the army, I was thinking "Air Cav" themed with artillery. But Ill hash that out later...
If anyone can think of a color that I can apply to the artillery vehicles other than bright red all over. Red extras/ stripes are fine.
and Most of all any C&C throughtout the evolution of this thread is wanted

so you gonna find your self some natives of a world to fight, so pip pip tally ho and a slap of mustard.

ok.......now that im composed, painting your vehicles red would make the army look like a unified fighting force, and whats your planned colour scheme for the infantry.

White with red accents might work for the vehicles (assuming that's the colour your pith helmets are going to be).

If you've got it take a look at UK WD 218 the Praetorians supporting vehicles were all desert camo using the red & white as the ID badges which worked well.

Paint the tanks to look like huge union jack flags!

Also think about including lots of artillery, not sure if valk's fit the pretorian theme but big BIG guns most certainly do (if you want to go the extra mile and mount them on trains instead of tanks then feel free!)

Yes. Im starting to agree...

Pure Red from the Army Painter Spray Range is retina destoying vivid in its color.
I'll leave it that color for now. It will be changed when I have decided on a color scheme.

For those wondering by chance, tiled floor does trump a valkyrie in a fight.

But by chance it did give me an idea. I would of not thought of it otherwise.

The Grey Valk was orignally for my Steel Legion. Ive since stopped using Valks for them and now there getting a new lick of paint.
So the plan is Remove the orginal pilot from the plane. Chop the Pretorian Gunner Models at the waist, stick them into the seats instead.

It melts plastic, 10-20 mins is good. Just bring a old teeth/nail brush and scrub a little it comes of easily.

Testing of Potential Color scheme really.

Right my first big conversion Idea. is basically make "rope" out of brass rod and gardening wire, and have them below the vendetta at a angle, to give the impression of movement.
then the plan is to have some convert orge bulls using

So the ogryns are holding onto the rope, while it is flying "holding onto dear life", I wont have any effect ingame. but its more to challenge myself and improve my skills at the more creative side of the hobby.

I did the Lord commisar to test out my red idea.

GW equivs are:
Scab Red-> Red Gore -> Blood Red. is the plan.
Nafin' special.

Artizan designs make those sort of Pilots if not I reckon the Sentinel crew might be good for it as well. They have similiar hats. A friend of mine has a Praetorian army and he uses Ogryns converted with kilts.....

More of a revalation really.
The Psyker is what I painted 2-3 months ago ish. So I can see a improvement in what I am producing slowly

Im "Pith'd" off with the commisars sash, on his right. I spilt some Superglue when I putting on the arms on and it dribbled..
So I might remove that entire sash completely. Ill decide later

The Mordian Models are the same as the prets, just with a different helmet, so Ill get a box and get sawin' away at theirs helmet lines and then GS a Pith on.

Right,
This is my first real attempt at Greenstuffing other than filling in gaps. I want to get the basics down, before I start on the actual orge bulls that will go in the army. So this is no more than a test/ practise.

Tools of the Trade+ Sawed the hand off and the gun and pretty much and filed down the rough areas after the saw had done its job. Also I might of invented new swear words while doing so.

Bit more greenstuff work done.

I removed 1/3 of the Greenstuff hat 30 seconds after the photo was taken, so I can get a more of a proper scaled pith on. when I put it over the supported blob I have at the moment.

Im struggling with the Pith Helmet at the moment. So Ive orderd some clay shapers. so I can have a decent go at it.

Update:
Sorry gents, life got all sneaky like. So Im back on track

Fook.
I got some dragonforge bases in yesterday.
My entire army should be on the cobblestone patterned bases. Its not a huge army so I can afford to splash out abit.
10 Ogryns
2 Lord Commisars
30 Vets
3 Vendettas

5 Ogryns are greenstuffed to about 90 percent done each. Orge Bull Models have a gaping hole in the stomach, so Im getting some plasticard soon as.
Also, im starting to think Col. Gravis has magic fingers, the Pith Helmets are making me want to kill puppies at a genocidal rate

But yeh, I finally sat down and got 3 valk bases done
