i have a dreadbash list atm that looks like this

2 kff-170

2x30 shoota boyz-440

1x30 slugga boyz-220

2xdeff dreads-dccw+skorcha-220

2x3 kans with rokkits-300

1x3 kans with grotzookas-135

I have 15 points left. Would it be smart to upgrade a kff to a SAG? (feel free to critique otherwise)

p.s. fun list

KFF is 6" so as long as you slog all of them in a tight pack I'd say KFF all day every day. However, I think since 5th edition, the SAG is pretty much
my favorite weapon in the ork codex. Zzap guns used to be, but now that they don't auto-hit, le sigh. If you want to spread out at all with your cans
the KFF isn't going to get you much of anything in the way of saves so then a SAG would be win.

In fact, there is no "upgrade a kff to a SAG".

But "downgrade a KFF to a sag".

You have...11 vehicles as wall for your army. So you know what is the meaning for 4+ csv.

Oh sorry i meant that i have 2 KFF right now and was wondering whether i should change one to a SAG.

I was thinking i could put some of my boys in front of my walkers so they both get 4+ cover save. The mek is really just for its tools.
In other words is one kff enough for this list?

And if the SAG would be a better choice would it be smart to take a boy off each squad to get him some grots and ammo runts as ablative wounds/re-rolls? (just maybe 3 or 4 grots with him)

I think i might go with this list

SAG-1 ammo runt-98

KFF-85

2x29 shoota boyz-428

1x29 slugga boyz-214 (for fluff and fun)

2x dreads-2 skorchas-grot riggas, armour plates-200

2x3 killa kans-rokkits-300

1x3 killa kans-grotzookas-135

10 grots+herder-40 (to go with sag)

i took out one boy from each squad and the extra dccw from the dreads to get 10 grots for my SAG. i was worried he would die too easily without a grot shield

Or would the sag be fine alone?

I would reccommend the SAG, not just because they are extremely amusing to use, but it would give you some nice long-range fire support.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

Where would the SAG go? It's a Heavy weapon, meaning no move and shoot, and I don't see any other static firing support. I dunno, doesn't seem like the SAG would contribute much here.

When I take them in my lists, I'll have them in terrain in the back of the board, if my opponant has snipers or deepstrikers, I'll add 10 grots to soak up wounds for him.

Thanks so i think ill go with the sag and make him go it alone at first maybe with 6 ammo runts or something like that. if i find him dying to easily ill add back the grots (i don't really like the 2 skorchas on them)
