My wife is interested in playing some Necromunda, but it is likley that it will probably be just the 2 of us playing (there is the possibility that my brother might want to play, but he is often not in the area) and I was wondering if it is possible to play with just 2 people?

I mean, I am happy to DM (GM?) and essentially just play lots of different gangs and write campaigns etc for my wife to play though if that is what it will take for a 2 player 'Munda game to be interesting and keep her interest (hopefully so she can start playing 40k - bwahaha!).

I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this type of game, or whether it is something that has to be played in a larger group. Also, any tips for running/playing the game are much appreciated - I've not finished reading through the rules yet (I only downloaded them last night), so anything to watch out for, just let me know.

Of course it is possible!

Especially as you've already stated that you're open to running multiple armies/gangs and GMing scenarios and such.

IF you're both into it, I think it will work out just fine.

Terrain projects are another way to keep the fire lit and all that.

Good luck, and keep us updated!

Cheers

I have a couple of Necromunda boxed sets on ebay at the moment, as well as a whole load of figures etc, so hopefully I should be good to go in a couple of weeks

Back when I first got involved I used to make a good attempt at playing on my own, but admittedly that was less than satisfying.

As soon as I get my new models and scenery I'm definitely going to be twisting my girlfriends arm into playing. I thought it was made for 1 on 1 really. Especially if you're willing to be a bit of a GM, you can always use different gangs, or control more than one at once in special scenarios to make it even more fun for the lady.

I am all about satisfying the ladies (or lady singular, in my case)

Well, I don't like to brag...

Printed off some gang rosters at work today (woo - free printing!), so I will read the rest of the rule book and have a go at making a couple of gangs.

Hah, I went the whole hog and printed off the entire rule-book at work today. Also a few rosters.

Just been making my first gang

Haha, I am holding out on getting a copy on ebay before I print one off. Will probably print off all the supliments though.

Hehe, we're probably bidding against each other. I'm trying to buy a box-set, scenery rule-book and models on UK e-bay at the moment too.

Drat!

Damn you!

What are the odds, eh?

To be honest I need to be outbid on some of it. I got carried away and posted about £150 worth of auctions on the assumption that I wouldn't win most of them

I have fallen into that trap before. I have about twice as much Vampire Counts stuff as I set out to buy because people were not bidding as much as I thought

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

It works fine with two person.

Hell, even tried it with one person once. That worked... sorta.

I thought the game was designed for one-on-one.
It is only campaign that would require more than 2 players.

I suppose you could have each player have multiple gangs.
But they couldn't play against each other, unless you don't mind playing a gang you don't own.

Bam, said the lady!

No, I don't mind not "owning" a gang and just playing "the hive"

Wow, everything on E-bay went to crazy prices. I'm gonna go the GW route.

20 assorted metal Escher for £50 isn't too bad.

Depends on what you mean as "isn't too bad"

Most of the stuff I was looking at went for about twice what I was thinking of paying for it, so it looks like I will be printing off a set of the rules at work on Monday.

Well I definately saw collected sets of unpainted models selling for around this price second hand. Once you tack on a sneaky £ or 2 for P+P, you could probably resell on e-bay for more than the £2.50 you can get them new for.
