DIY Chapter Test scheme!
Hey Dakka, just painted up a few models for my new army. Wanted to know what all of you think. Also, I need a name for my chapter. Any help would be much appreciated.
Tactical Marine - This was my first attempt at highlighting an infantry model.
I tried some minor conversion on this guy. Cut up a grenade pack and put one into his hand (tried to make it look like he was throwing it underhand but I didn't quite capture the motion. I also used some green stuff to add some shoulder tubing on his right side so the gun could be further down. You can't really see it however.
Grey Knight Terminator
I use these guys in my army as Allies because I think that they are one of the coolest looking sculpts I've ever seen and they usually perform well
Vindicator - This was my first attempt at highlighting and weathering a vehicle. I tried a lot of new paint techniques on this one.
In anycase, I'm fairly happy with how these turned out. I'm still working on my photography technique and will be building a lightbox sometime in the near future. Maybe when I get a larger apartment or house. The lighting is a little harsh and it does highlight some of the errors I've made. I think the colours blend a little better in person, but my technique could also use some improvement.
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say, Dakka!

It all looks awesome, bro
Crisp colours, good scheme, simple yet effective bases. It's all good.
My only complaint is that the extreme highlights on the vindicator are a little too striking. Just darken it down a shade or two and it will be perfect, IMO

@Ed - Thanks! I was really proud of how the shoulderpads turned out.
@Space_Potato - Thanks for the comments. I agree about the highlights on the vindicator. I may go back and darken the highlights, or do a second, darker highlight a little further in.

I like it.
I would suggest using a different colour on the bolter casing, as the brown-ish colour on there at the moment doesn't really go. Maybe either a bone to match the shoulder pads, a deep red or grey.
And he needs his eye lenses painted...
Otherwise, good job so far. The shoulder pads in particular are great.

I think I will tweak the bolter casing to be a similar colour to the shoulder pads.
I did paint the eye lenses green but it is hard to tell. I might move to yellow so that they stand out a little more.

They have a nice animation feel to them. I would brighten up the storm bolter on the termie, and do something about all that puke on the ground!
Perhaps mix in some flock of a different shade to make it look less pukey.
