So, you've sprayed paint thinner on your enemies models, I see.

it's cheating but here is how it works:

Roll a D6

1-2 paint is glossed! dun-dun-dun!!! The gloss is resistant to paint thinner, and the model suffers nothing.
3-4 model was undercoated! dang! The model suffers a S5 hit.
5 painter was impatient! no undercoat! Model suffers a S10 hit.
6 Painter didn't even bother painting! Model suffers a S10 AP1 no invulnerable/cover saves.

N: if the models not painted/ only undercoated it is a D2

It would only work if the model is painted with enamels. Acrylics get a 1+ re-rollable save.

I use GW paints (accrylic, water based)
and I use 4'n'20 paint thinner to remove paint from my models, it works fine.

(4'n'20 being a small local hobby/craft store.)

Moved to 40K general discussions as I am not sure where else to put this.

I still think there should be a game mechanic along the lines of "you can play with unpainted/primed only marines but they suffer -1 to all their stats (to a minimum of 1)" fed up with the legion of the primed (chaos/nid player at my FLGS)
