So I bought my son the nerf axe and long sword. I have to say these things are AWESOME! I find myself playing with him just to beat everyone up with a sword. Anyone else play around with these things? At the very least they look like they could be used in a L.A.R.P.
Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

And yes, we do laugh at people, such as Beavis Daemons (The famous 'Lightning Bolt' video would be Beavis Daemons, namely people in unconvincing outfits, with no clue)

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
Yea my son has a ton of lightsabers as well. But uh, hes not a good shot, and Ive taken to many ball hits in my time. Nerf RULES! I also got the super awesome chain gun for xmas from the wife. My house turns into a warzone at least twice a week
I got me the recon Nerf gun. it is my favorite toy ever.
pair it up with the night vision goggles I got with modern warfare 2, and my cat hasn't been doing much sleeping lately...

Your experience of LARPING very different from mine.
Depends on if you're doing LARP like in the WOD (Vampire) style, where combat is resolved with rock-paper-scissors, or NERO style where combat is resolved by... hitting the other guy with what is basically a padded length of PVC pipe or fiberglass.
And then there's those of us who dispense with the roleplaying all together and just focus on the hitting...
