I hear frequently about the cheesy spam lists of 6 LR in 2000 pts, but I just don't see how it can be done? Is it one of the variant marine codexes, or am I missing something - by my calculations, taking 3 Redeemers, 3 Min Term Squads with 3 Redeemer Dedicated transports comes out to 2140 points... before even taking HQ / 2 Troops. What am I missing?

You can't get six in a Marine list. You can get five. Three as Heavy Support choices, and TWO as dedicated transports. You can only select a Land Raider as a dedicated transport for ONE Terminator Squad, and ONE Assault Terminator Squad.

Perhaps Black Templars or Dark Angels can do it differently.

To get 5 in a Space Marine army, cost about 1880, that with a basic Captain, and two 5 man Tactical Squads

@the rhino: Are you sure that is in the Vanilla marine codex. it was in the old one, but i am pretty sure every Termie squad can get a LR of any type as a transport now.

Black templars can get 17 LRCs total(one for every FOC slot)

Nope, he's right looking at it now. One Terminator squad in the army may select a LR...

DH can sort of do it, 3 as heavy support then as dedicated transports for Inquisitors, although only Lords can do it, leaving you with 5 total.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The dex says that only Inquisitor lords can take them as transports, or does that apply to Elites as well?

The GK terminator bodyguards have all the same options as the Terminator squads therefore the GK heroes can take a LR transport.

2 HQ, 3 Elite, 3 Heavy support.

Grey Templar has arbarred the correct yet again.

5 for standard Vanilla Marines

2 Dedicated Transports for 1 Assault, 1 Regular
(so elite)

3 Heavy Support

then!

Use a GK Grandmaster and take a Dedicated for him, in the HQ slot.

6 is possible, but I don't think so in under 2500....

Ultramarines Second Company - ~4000 points

Dark Eldar WIP - ~800 points
