So this hasnt been adressed really so I willl bring it up in a new thread.

A battlewagon with deff rolla. Moves lets say 6 and takes out a rhino with marines in it.

Now what happens?

Do the marines jump out and they happen to be in front of the deff rolla. Does that squad Then also take d6 or 2d6 str ten hit?

also if the battlewagon inflicts a "wrecked" result. Does the wagon have to do a difficult terrain test being as after a tank becomes a wreck it also becomes difficult terrain.

If the rhino doesn't explode, the battlewagon stops, so no issue there.

If it does explode, and the battlewagon had movement remaining, well then, the rules for ramming tell you that any infantry models in the path are tank shocked as normal.

Sucks to be those guys.

Having roll'd into the crater the explosion caused, the battlewagon would have to take a dangerous test.. unless the deffrolla itself makes it immune to that, im not 100% on all the benefits the rolla provides.

Correct, it gets to have a go at the marines now.

And a Deff Rolla acts like a Dozer blade too.

...and jsut to point out, this is nothing new. EVery vehicle that can Ram has had the capability of doing this, for a long time now. It's just that the deff rolla makes it a little bit more likely to happen.

A little bit more likely?! I think im rerolling orcs! :-).

You'll find quite adequate math-hammer elsewhere in this forum comparing melta guns to deff rollas...and you may wish to reconsider giving up any long ranged anti-tank before changing armies.

This is true.

So since an army of Orks can field a max of 8 Battlewagons fineggling the FOC, that is 32 Rokkit Launchas right there on all the Battlewagons!

O....M....G

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA....

*Goes to do the point calculation*

Err...this is gonna to take awhile, so I'll be back after work to give you an estimation as to how many points this will take to field this idea.

In the meantime, someone should make a tactics thread about this idea!

@Dash....well, then we add in about 3 squadrons of maxxed Rokkit Buggies

6 WG Packs with Logan and 6 Drop Pods, each WG with Dual Combi meltas comes to 2165 points.

Hrm...I'm thinking maximization here.

If you then take three Wolf Scout squads in your Elites, you could get three more Melta Guns doing the Behind Enemy Lines thing.

In Fast Attack, you could take three squadrons of Land Speeders with Multi Meltas (can they get two, or just one? Codex is at home).

I think the only way you can get Melta weaponry in the HS section is on Land Raiders. Can Long Fangs take Melta weapons? I can't remember. Can you put them in Rhinos with a combi-Melta?

I think for your second HQ, you could take a generic HQ with a combi-Melta.

Just curious as to what the absolute maximum number of Melta weapons a SW army could fit in a single Force Org

Long fangs can take multimeltas is memory serves.

The hilarious thing is that Logan would presumably be walking on if the army only contains 6x10WG in drop pods....however adding in scouts means two can drop in behind cover to allow terminator Logan to hitch a ride.

Correct me if I am wrong but it was my understanding that you cannot disembark during the enemy movement phase (either by RAW or the INAT FAQ) or for instance if another extenuating circumstance disallows for disembarking (example: The squad had just recently embarked in the previous turn or had fired last turn) and as such the troops inside are destroyed (in the same manned as troops inside a fast skimmer that fails its Difficult Terrain test when moving flat out)

You're wrong. You're thinking of the prohibition on disembarking in your OWN movement phase if the transport moved over 12" beforehand.

For an exploded vehicle, your models technically can never be destroyed from the vehicle damage result and you get to place all your models in the crater. If the vehicle is 'Destroyed' then any models that cannot disembark without being within 1" of an enemy is lost.

Because just because something is an improvement doesn't mean it's suddenly the best out there? But that's just a wild guess of course.

I need to reread the rule when I get home, but I would see it as the BW with deffrolla steaming along, blasting the rhino, and continue going and then the marines would climb from the wreckage and thus not subject to the deffrolla attack as well.
